Title: Crossley - Lundy, Devlin - Currie. Thanks In Advance.
Post by: nebo on Monday 10 September 07 00:51 BST (UK)
Hello, I am new here, it's nice to meet the community.  I'm wondering if anyone can help me trace my g-g-grandfather John Crossley, married to Margaret Lundy, as well as Hugh Devlin and Margaret Currie, who were all married in Ireland early 1810-20s and came to Scotland with their children abt. 1850s?

Earliest records I have here is the marriage of the John Crossley and Elizabeth Devlin  at Linlithgow Bridge, 1864.

I would love to know whereabout in Ireland either set of parents originated from.

So if anyone knows the origins of Hugh Devlin, Margaret Currie, Margaret Lundy or John Crossley in Ireland, all born roughly abt. 1800, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Welsome to Rootschat but you will probably need to look in Scottish records for information on where these people came from in Ireland.
If you find a death certificate (or marriage?) for any of the ones born in Ireland it might given place of birth in Ireland. Also census records- I have seen county of birth in Ireland listed on census form (although this was 1891 & 1901).
