This pic was also rescued from the junkshop...I couldn't leave this lovely pic behind...I thought the restorers would enjoy practicing on this one ;)...I wanted to share it with you all 8) 8) I'm sure she would benefit from a new wardrobe ;D ;D ;D...
Carol
Hi Pru...another one for your website ;)
Carol
-
Oh Carol! (there's a song there somewhere!!!!)
Well done! She's beautiful! Can't wait to see all the restores for her.
Judy :)
-
How could any one throw this out...just beggars belief. Even if you don't know the person what a wonderful decorative item if correctly framed.
Caz
-
I agree Caz and Judy....for 50p...who could resist...and what lovely eyes...I'm hoping there is a rellie out there that recognises the addressee...I'm thinking of doing a bit of detective work on that wonderful site for finding reunitng people ;D ;D ;D
Carol
-
I get to go first, hmmm . . is this a good thing :-\
didn't change too much of the colouring, hope I have done this lady some justice
Margaret
-
Here's my er, first play. :P :P :P
Caz
Just realised I over rev'ed her. Call me daft but I like the hand painting the way it is, adds authenticity and charm. Also resized to a reasonable size. ::)
-
Nice one Caz, I think I overdid the softening.
Didn't use layering, might be tempted to redo the whole colour thing. ;D
margaret
-
That's the beauty of it Meg....you can do it as many times as you like...I think it's lovely...you did her really well 8)
Caz...she's looking really good...I love it 8) 8)
I expect this lady to have a few make-overs ;D ;D ;D
Carol
-
A quick go from me.
Tim
-
Very much as MargaretHave left colour very much alone -
just adjusted for a little fading
Could this be originally a hand painted photo ??
Smurf
-
That's another beauty Tim 8) she does suit green eyes doesn't she!
Smurf I think this would definitely have been a hand tinted photo...nice job you've done on her too 8)
Thanks again ~ Carol
-
I think the original artist did a lousy job of the rose though, ;D
nice one smurf
Margart
-
Went a bit nuts :P :P :P :P :P
You're either gonna hate it or love it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Caz
-
Couldn't agree more Margaret
I didn't want to change the original as it is a great
photo with the colors looking as if they could be a
genuine reproduction of the original sitting
Smurf
-
Caz, I love the affect and the softness, but for some reason she looks a lot older
Or is it just me.
Margaret
-
here is a colour variation from me, just for fun.
Margaret
-
I love it Caz...the grain gives it an aged faded look...I think it looks quite authentic 8)...it has a dream like quality to it :D
Nice one Meg :D...really soft...and beautifully coloures...I think the rose is made of paper...and some of the colour has faded over time!
Carol
-
Thanks Carol,
well thats it for me for tonight, getting a stiff neck from being on the computer too long. ;D
night all.
Margaret
-
Well I figured you will get numerous coloured ones, so decided to go outside the box just a tad PMSL ;D ;D ;D It was pretty tame considering some of the things I did to the pic, but they were just a little bit too radical to post ;D ;D ;D
Margaret's right, she does look older but considering it's a variation and not strictly a restore, you can always tell the rellies if you find them that it's a pic of her in later life ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D
Caz
-
What beautiful restores you have had from everyone, Mrs Rummage! Bet you wish she was one of your now! I really hope that you manage to find her a good home back with her real relatives. Please keep us informed if you have any luck, won't you! Then we can call you Miss Marple! ;D ;D
As Caz said, who on earth could throw such a beautiful picture away??
Lookig forward to seeing any more refugees that you adopt!
Judy ;) ;)
-
Is it just me or does she look like the Queen Mother in her younger days?
Fantastic restores, I love looking at your threads even when I don't have any photos to restore, I just love seeing what you do, it's sooo clever :)
-
Aw Madpants...haven't seen you on the photo restore board for ages...which is a shame cos everytime I see your avatar I crack up ;D ;D ;D ;D
Caz
-
Great isn't it Caz...You know what M.P....I think she does have a look of the youger Queen Mum 8)
Judy....I will keep everyone posted as to any developments...if she turns out to be famous...remember...you saw it here first ;D ;D ;D
Carol
-
Hehehe thanks Caz ;D
I'll pop in occasionally to give you a laugh ;D ;D
-
Hi EVERYONE .. wow what a fabulous photo Carol . and great versions from all of you ...she is so lovely.. I love your grainy look Caz ... and how nice to have what may well be the original tints ...! Thanks for sharing with us tt ... Its a bit like being given homework when you post these orphans ... in the nicest possible way ... now just go and practise my teacher used to say !! ;) ;D ;D
-
It's great isn't it...and a good one to have a go at....wouldn't it be good if Annie Barnett's rellies came on here to claim it :o :o :o :o....Have you noticed the date on it too Poll and the stamp 8)
Carol
-
Oh my that would be so wonderful wouldn't it ? OOOH C'MON !! Maybe yo should postit in the common room for some of our detectives to go to work on ... Liverpool Annie is really good at this sort of stuff !
Poll

Carol
-

I hope it was something nice ??? ???
A bit of selected sharpening brought the sparkle to her eyes ;) ;)
Lovely image, and a pleasing / rewarding result :o :o
Cheers
Mudge
-
Glad you enjoyed manipulating her...after all this is the closest way you men can get to female manipulation :P :P :P
I was just saying that you would be along soon to give her the sepia/canvas treatment and you didn't let me down ;)
Carol
-
I'm obviously getting too predictable :o :o
-
Cazza,
I'm suprised you didn't give her the porcelain treatment. She has the face for it.
Jim
-
;D ;D ;D You know me too well...I have done but I didn't want to be greedy and post too many, (I could post about 10 of this one, I love it).
Caz
-
;D ;D ;D You know me too well...I have done but I didn't want to be greedy and post too many, (I could post about 10 of this one, I love it).
Caz
Caz!! Please do!!!! We all love seeing your restores!!!
Judy
-
Er Jim....yours must be really small 'cos I've looked and looked but I can't find it :P :P :P

Work in progress !
Jim
-
Oh Jim...You are awful but I like you!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Judy you are such a sweetie.
I've got a couple more lined up that I could post so long as TT can put up with more versions. I'm still playing around though and will pick the ones I like the best and post them tomorrow. Need some beauty sleep (so I be back in about a year ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D )
Caz
-

Very funny Caz ;D ;D ;D ;D...I like it...a lot..I think I will use that one liner :P :P :P
Carol
-
Here's my late one.
Jim
-
Aw Jim!!!
It was worth the wait!!! :D :D
-
Oi Judy...Are you reading my mind ;D ;D ;D...Jim I love the cameo :o :o...really lovely...not fond of the surround if I may say so as it detracts from your beautiful work....That is a truly lovely cameo and well suited to the subject...it would make a lovely locket.....and as Judy said...well worth the wait 8) 8) 8) 8)
Carol
-
I agree with Carol, the "cameo" part is
fantastic,
[/i] but it's completly overpowered by the frame (which in my opinion (for what it's worth) is too heavy and dark looking for the subject matter)
Can you change it Jim for a lighter / daintier one, just for us ??? ???, please ??? ???
Cheers
Mudge
-
Due to great pressure from the masses ...............
Yes , I do agree , it was a bit too much .
try this one.
Jim
-
That's much more feminine and pretty Jim! Lovely!! ::) ::)
-
That's great Jim......so much better and it shows your work off to great effect... 8) 8) 8)...a great piece of work ;)

Meg that's a really lovely pastel version...I love working with soft pastels so this appeals to me and I have used it quite a lot on my own pics 8)
Poll they are truly lovely...I love the Black and white one..it's really effective and brings a different quality to the pic 8)

Poll

One more.
Jim
-
hi Carol, thanks,
I also have worked in soft pastels and love the medium.
Such a different feel to oils etc. Works well for portraits.
Margaret
-
Lovely Jim...It has a real warm feel to it....how different this pic can look and I never tire of seeing what people will come up with :o
Carol
-
Hi Mrs Rummage!!

-
Hi Judy...yes I'm really thrilled and have enjoyed these sooooo much....I've done several versions of it myself so I can understand why the restorers enjoy doing their various interpretations...every one a gem 8)
