hello every body
im not to sure in which county  i should be searching , so i came here instead so forgive me im welsh , what im hoping is to try and trace the family of my gggfather by the name of william patrick gillick  born 8 march 1845 in ballinglough . i beleive his father was called john possibly born around 1809 and his mother may be called mary born around 1819. so if there is any one able to shed some light it would be most welcome thankyou .

No such townland as Ballinglough but try searching for variations at www.thecore.com/seanruad remembering to change options from default setting of "Must match exactly". First part of word could be Ballin, Bally, Ballina... but you need to find county and area- parish & hopefully townland before you will have much luck locating the family in Ireland.

Might it be Ballinlough? However there are dozens of townlands by that name. I did some research on the name Gillick and it seems to be commoner in Cavan and Meath.

thanks for your replys , i apologise i spelt the town wrong it is balliinlough , i have since found out from a navel document that it is in meath , would that  help,thanks for taking time to help

the raven hasn't been online since 2014 but this topic was started in 2007 so they may have found more information on Patrick Gillick in the last 7+ years.
