Does anyone have any information on Charles Haughton Wilson (b 1883), or his wife Eliza Hannah Morrison (b 1884). They had 6 children Walter, Louis, George, Lily, Ida & my mother. Charles & Eliza are buried in Croghan cemetry, I think Charles died 1944 & Eliza died 1956. They lived in Coromahon House, near Rockfield, Killeshandra and they were farmers.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Margaret

Hi Berni,
As far as my Mum knows she thinks her grandfather was also Charles Haughton Wilson too, is it possible to copy the link for me so I can take a look at it.
You are my first reply to this one, you never know you may end up helping me like my family are helping you make breakthroughs for you.
Thanks

I have made a bit of a breakthrough this week thanks to my Mother doing some research with a relative over the Christmas period.
Some very interesting information was supplied in a Christmas card to my Mother and has confirmed the christian names of my grandparents
This is one Christmas card that will not be going in the recycling bin, it is now in my family history file.
I have now found a second cousin who I did not know about and have spoken to her at length last night, she has even visited the family home where my Mother was born.
I now know that Charles Haughton's father was called John Wilson and his mother was called Mary Jane Haughton. I am still hunting now for some more pieces in the puzzle.

Do you have these two children for John Wilson & Mary Jane Haughton/Houghton:
1. Eliza Jane born 9 May 1877 Co.Cavan
2. Margaret Frances born 8 Apr.1880 Loughnafin, Loughadian, Down
Not sure where the place in Co. Down is but see www.thecore.com/seanruad to find details of townlands and parishes in Ireland (be sure to change default setting from exact match if you want to search prt of the name)

Hi Aghadowey,
Thanks, this is great I do not have this information at all for any of the family but I really appreciate your help.
Thanks

Don't know about 'Loughnafin' but found Loughadian townland (Aghaderg Parish in Banbridge Poor Law Union).

Hi Aghadowey,
I have looked at the link you supplied earlier today and I have fornd some information on Loughnafin.
This is what I found which mentions an area called Rockfield which my Mother says was the area where she was born, have attached the link so you can see it.
Loughnafin Rockfield 378 Cavan Tullyhunco Killashandra Cavan Ulster
Margaret Francis is correct as I have just found out this week she married Andrew Baird.
John Wilson & Mary Jane Haughton's children were Walter, Charles Haughton (my Mother's father), Georgina, Louie and Lilian (married W.T Baird) as well as Margaret Francis. Apparently 2 sisters married 2 brothers.
Eliza Jane born 9 May 1877 Co.Cavan - spoke to my Mother today and although this is a name she does not remember she thinks it is very likely that there was another child called Eliza Jane.
Thanks again for your help.

I checked under Co. Down for Loughnafin and Loughadian and only found Loughadian in Banbridge area. Glad you solved the mystery of where Loughnafin is.

Hi Da1951,
Welcome to Rootschat.
Everything has been very quiet on the family history front for ages, I just took a look at Rootschat today.
This is fantastic news we are obviously first cousins. I have sent you a personal message just before I read this posting.
I am more than happy to share information with you.
Thanks

Mr Andrew Wrenn of Glenageary Co Dublin purchased the estate known as Rockfield or Loughnafin Co Cavan in the 1870s. Wrenn was born in Co Cavan. he put his brother Patrick as caretaker of the run down mansion and the caretakers house. When Wrenn died in 1908 he bequeated the land etc to his two nieces... perhaps there were families living on the land
