I have an Ellen PENNY ms DOYLE b c1811 in Queen's County Ireland recorded on the 1851 Census, a widow living in Leeds Yorkshire, England.  Father's name recorded as Matthew DOYLE on marriage certificate to 2nd spouse John MCGARTH. Trying to find details about 1st spouse Mr. PENNY.  Unfortunately free bdm doesn't record the birth's of her 3 children all born in Leeds.  Can't find a marriage either.

Hello wildgoose,

There were Doyle families in the parishes shown on the following list at the time of Griffiths Valuation - Laois 1851-52. Abbeyleix, Aghmacart, Ardea, Ballyadams, Borris, Clonenagh and Clonagheen, Coolbanagher, Curraclone, Donaghmore, Dysartgallen, Erke, Killabban, Killeshin, Kilmanman, Lea, Offerlane, Rathaspick, Rearymore, Rosenallis, Straboe, Tankardstown

Doyle and McGrath families lived in the same parish in several  counties including Co. Laois.
