Title: Looking for info on Fred Binstead - Vancouver

Looking for information on on Fred Binstead B: 7th June 1884 in Basingstoke, England. D: 21st April 1966 in Vancouver.

Seems to have married twice.

1st wife - Frances Hayter in 1909 in Hounslow, England
2nd wife - Jane (Jennie) Wilson in 1932  in Edmonton, Alberta

Any info would be appreciated.

www.findmypast.com seems to show Frederick Binstead, 35, wife Frances, 34, sons Stanley, 9 and Percy, 6, and a daughter Freda, 3, emigrating to Canada in 1920 - so Frances died between 1920 and 1932?  There's a second entry for Frederick going back to Canada in 1930 aged 44 (by himself this time).

There is still a Percy Binstead living in BC (www.canada411.com) (and a number of other Binsteads).

It looks like Frances died in Edmonton.

Although neither of these sites has the "Edmonton Journal" for the years you want, you may find their obituaries in another paper.

This is my Grandfather who died in 1966.  he was married twice.  My dad is his son from his second wife.  She died as well when he was 8 years old.  Just curious as to why you are looking into him specifically.

Hi Shell, sorry for taking so long to reply.  I had mislaid all of my family history info! Disaster.

I'm currently trying to research my grandmothers side of the family. Her father was called Archibald Wilson and he was a sailor.  He left my great grandmother to bring up her children on her own, and I believe he emigrated to Canada.  I have found an Archibald Wilson (born in Raloo - Larne in Northern Ireland) who married Sarah Jane Mahood (also from Larne)  They emigrated to Alberta and had a daughter called Jane (Jennie) Wilson.  I am curious as to whether this Archibald Wilson could be my great Grandfather.
