Hi
Also does anyone have any information or know where to get info on Tynton Farm, Tonmawr Farm and Baglan house. Ancestors used to live at these places?
Many Thanks

I'd send a general email with the query to the following libraries. Probably best place to start as they may have old books or articles specifically about the named Farms and buildings. :)
Cwmavon Library 896532 Cwmavon.library@ npt.gov.uk
Neath Library 644604/635017 neath.library@ npt.gov.uk
Port Talbot Library 763490/1 porttalbot.library@ npt.gov.uk

Hello
There is some information relating Tynton Farm Llangeinor on the Genuki
Site.
-
Thanks NigelG for the info, I'll give that a go and hopefully find something on them.
Hi Slyvia, apparently tynton farm was near tonmawr, is llangeinor near tonmawr?
-
Hello
I think they must be quite near one another and Baglan House is shown as Port Talbot. Kelly's Directory 1910 shows a Arthur Thomas Williams Esq.
When I fist looked I found an item where the two farms were mentioned now I cant find it.

They were said to live on Tin Ton Farm~ Which may be the Tynton Farm? Any help would be appreciated, Thank you very much.

Hello Marion and Alison
Just seen your posts after all this time totally forgot about it all lol, the Tynton Farm my relatives lived at was the one that overlooked Tonmawr so not the one in Llangeinor which I think is where Richard Price lived. I had a David Bevan who was married to Annie Jones living there so are there any connections with you both ?

Helen

I am looking at the Jones family of Tyn Ton, Tonmawr. They were there from at least 1788 (Vaughan John) to 1842 (John Jones).

Hello Marion,
My great grandfather William Thomas dob 17.1.1864 was from Tynton farm Llangeinor. As an adult he lived at Tynton House, Oxford Street/road(?) in Pontycymer. I'd love to learn more about the Thomas family's history at Tynton farm. Maybe we are distant cousins? Hope you still access this site as I see your post is from some years ago.
Best wishes,
Catherine
