Title: Theophilus Evans abt 1820
Post by: kenelms on Monday 19 November 07 18:47 GMT (UK)
I have asked on the Breconshire site for 1841,51 and 61 census of Theophilus Evans [farmer] b abt 1820 [but that's a guess. He had a son Thomas b1845. Rather than repeat, hopefully someone has something on the census asked. I don't know if Thos is short for Theophilus or Thomas. I know Thomas the son married Margaret Davies at Bedwellty. Thankyou.

hi
Just adding my 10pence worth would think likely Thos is short for Thomas the name Theophilus sounds  abit foreign ( unless you have it as actual name on Census then my mistake) and if he had a son Thomas it was very common for child to be called  after parents
I have several Thos in my family and know its really Thomas
i wil look up family for you see what I can find

I have throughly research my family tree that includes I believe the Theophilus Evans you refer to.  What information are you looking for? and what is your connection, if any with Theophilus

Thomas Evans B1845/46 was born I think at a place called Penybank in Radnorshire--but where this is, I don't know. Thomas gives his father Theophilus as a FARMER.
