Looking for family of Mary Noonan born Tulla 1841 moved to Wales married a Paul Donovan in Newport Gwent in 1860 came back to Ireland to have her first child Bridget in 1861,
Paul on all Censuse just says Ireland for place of birth but family stories say they had a farm which was taken over by the British government
Really working in the dark any ideas gratefully recieved!! took 3 Censuses for enumerator to ask WHERE she was born and entered TOLLER County Care Assumed County Clare and Tulla any other thoughts would there be a Toller?

Hello dragongirl,
Tulla looks OK.
If the family completed the Census themselves they were probably lacking in literacy.

There were several Noonans occupying land Tulla at the time of the
Title Applotments in 1827 - Michael, Patt., James, Patt (may be the same Patt. as named earlier) and Widow Noonan. Do you have any clue to the name of Mary's father?
While this was c. 14 years before Mary was born, any of these three (or 4) men could be her father, or grandfather.

Just looked at Griffiths for Tulla (c. 1855) and see only one Noonan - Patrick Noonan, living at Glendree.
Depending on which religion Mary was - if it was Roman Catholic - birth records exist going back to the very early 1800s. You might like to write to/or ring the Parish Priest in Tulla and see if he can provide information on the Mary Noonan.
Good Luck

Good morning...I have Noonans from upper Tulla, Clare. My gggrandfather was Patt (Patrick) married to Bridget McDole ( McDowell). They had three daughters, Johanna, Bridget and Mary (Maria) and I believe they had 2 sons sons William and Michael. I was able to locate all birth records for the children but I am unable to locate Patt and Bridget at all

Welcome to RootChat Sking85111
This is quite an old thread, from 2009, but if you post the dates of the children and where you found them someone may be able to help you find their parents marriage or explain why you can't.

Hello I have a Catherine Noonan. The first we know of her is when she got married in Fremantle,Western Australia in 1857.To Daniel Martin whose wife had died 6 mths earlier leaving him with 3 small children. On the wedding cert. she has down that she was from Co.Clare and her father being a farmer. I have now found that Catherine Noonan was born 27 Nov 1830 in the Parish of CASTLETOWN-GEOGHAN Co WESTMEATH R/C her parents were JOHN NOONAN and ANNE KEENEHAN . I was told that the Parish CASTLETOWN could be HORSELEAP which is part of the Parish of KILBRIDE, CLARA,CO OFFLAY now. Because she was illiterate could she mean she was born Clara instead Co Clare? That record is from the RC parish of Castletown - Geoghegan which is in County Westmeath.
http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0913
Clara and Horseleap is a neighbouring Parish which straddles County Westmeath and County Offaly.
Clara is a townland and town in the Civil Parish of Kilbride
https://www.johngrenham.com/c_parish/c_parish_main.php?civilparishid=2000&county=&civilparish=Kilbride%20(Kilcoursey)
If your Catherine was from Clara you would expect to find her baptism in Clara and Houseleap RC parish and for her to say she was from Kings County.
As Catherine appears to have named the County she was from not the town or townland, its highly unlikely she was from either County Westmeath or County Offaly (called Kings County at the time).
You can see the County Clare RC parishes here
http://registers.nli.ie/
Unless you can narrow down where in Co.Clare she came from it may not be possible to find the correct Catherine, assuming her baptism even survives.

Bridget (number 1533) townland of Glendree

I didn't look for Johanna
but looking for Michael I found this
1844 Pat to Pat Noonan and Bid McDole Glendree (fairly sure it's Noonan)

Left hand page, 31 July
Same couple?
Looking at earlier and later pages to see if there are any more children to this couple would be a good idea, that would give a better idea when they may have married.

Since my first posting on Catherine Noonan on July 2009 I have found Catherine Noonan's info. in Latin in the Catholic Church records in Perth West. Aust. When she was married in 1857. Had her father as John Noonan and Mother as Anna Keenehan. So when I saw the bap. cert. in Co Westmeath of a Catherine Noonan with the same parents name and about the same birth time as my Catherine. I thought that could be my Catherine and on her wedding cert. she could of meant CLARA instead CO CLARE to the person who filled out the form. Hoping someone might have children with the same parents name
