Hi there are 157 Brees and variants on the 1881 census. happy to look any of them up for you on my discs

thanks for your reply. I'm not sure whether you can help me, I'm looking for a Jean/John Bree born about early 1880s. Unable to help you with a middle name or place of birth. I believe it to be Jersey, Channel Island but am unsure. All I know is that he eventually marries an Amelia Carboulec (born c1882) who was apparently born in France.

Hi only 2 John Bree's on the 1881 census in C I one born 1876 and the other 1879. No sign of any Carboulecs. Have you any other details??

Hi ivegot some good news for you, i am the granddaughter of john Frances Bree and Amelia carbolec Bree, my father was william george Bree born 1927, my aunt was Doris Bree and uncle john Frances carboulic Bree, i am the yougest of 6 children from williams second marriage to june Richardson (nee) Dymond, from the Jersey Heritage site you should be able to trace back at least to 1500s my sister and i have just started tracing our heritage and i am excited to possibly find a direct relation as we grew up with just mum and dad,

I just posted that i am great granddaughter of john frances Bree and Amelia carboulec Bree
My father was their youngest william George Bree born 1927 he was 14 during the occupation, i know my grandmother had come over from france as i think a maid but the Bree family were all farmers and farm labour's, they were at 12a caprice villias part of occupation as Amelia and her daughter Doris both went to prison for larceny and theft i do have bit more info as my sister and i have just started tracing our family in channel islands, ive attached some of the registration cards i have found
