These are my grandparents surnames, Wolverhampton. (Thomas Ralph Kendrick and Elizabeth Jane Higgs)
Don't suppose anyone else is researching these surnames in the Wolves/Staffs area?
Haven't got very far on these yet. ::) My sister married a Kendrick from a separate Kendrick family, but I expect the families are connected some way back?

My Grandad has researched our HIGGS line, which dates back to Penn in Wolverhampton in the 1700's. The family stayed in the Penn area (my Dad grew up there). You may belong to a chain from that line. They were mostly Locksmiths. Looking at other posts on here, there are people researching the Bridgnorth HIGGS line and Trysull too (if you do a search on this site for HIGGS), who do not seem to be linked to my line (yet!).
We've got stuck at John Higgs who died in 1776 in Penn, as his parents names were not recorded (see my recent post). I would like to take up where my Grandad left off and see if I can find out more.

Hi, I don't have an Elizabeth Jane Higgs on my family tree around those dates, do you know her parent's names? Or grandparents? I can see the entry for her birth on Family Search, but no parents names given.

Sorry, I think we have our wires crossed. I wondered if there was a link with the Higgs line, but I think the details you've given above are the Kendrick/Ralph side - (Thomas Ralph Kendrick mother Lettita).
My family is Higgs.
Sorry I can't help, although I will look out for Kendrick/Ralph names.
Lovely picture x

Ummmm, it appears someone has dug up a post of mine from THIRTEEN years ago lol. If it helps, my grandmother's family (Elizabeth Jane Higgs) are from the Trysull line. They were all Millers, and lived there from the early 1700's.
-
Hello, mine were Millers as well. If there is a way for you to send me your email address I will send you scanned copies of the trees my grandad drew and researched - could you send me a personal message? I'm struggling to work out how to do it - I can see my inbox but not how to message.
Our branch goes back to John Higgs in Penn in the mid 1700s, but we are connected to the Thomas Higgs line from Tettenhall which is full of Millers and probably extends back to Roger Higges of Claverley in 1500s. I have all of these parts of the tree, so you may be able to see where you connect from.
-
That would be great thank you! My tree is on tribal pages, I will send you a link to that in a message and my email as I would love to see your grandad's research. I also think my branch might have links to Claverley, but not sure exactly where that starts.
-
My Nan was a Kendrick b in Dudley I see you have a few of my other surnames too the line goes back to around 1720 in Shropshire M
