William Lees(1812) and Mary Pritchard (1811) - both born in Lilleshall. They are my great great grandparents.
I have recently found out there was a son LEAVI born in 1852. I had never known there be a son Leavi.
Would there be anyone out there who could shed some light on this/
Regards,
Doris B.

Lilleshall comes under Newport registration until 1935 but there is no birth or death in freebmd for Leve/Leavi Lees 1851-1861 for Shropshire as a whole.
where did the info come from?

mum44 you just beat me to it - was going through different spellings ;D

Well, I put in Leavi - unusual spelling of that name - and hit pay dirt.
It could be, of course, that this family are Leas not Lees and therefore not Doris'. in which case her informant wasn't correct!

Well - despite a lengthy search, I can't find Leavi ever again :'(
There is no apparent birth reg, for him. No apparent death reg. ???
The only Levi Lees marriage was in Huddersfield in 1890 and he was born in Yorkshire. :(
I cannot find him on 1871, 1881, 1891 or 1901 censuses as either Leavi or Levi Lees or Leas, in either England or Wales ???
I tried just initials from 1871 - 1901 in case he was in an asylum or institution, but nothing came up there either. ??? :(
Maybe someone else may be able to spot what I've missed ? :-\

I originally drew Doris's attention to Leavi and have just seen this thread.
I’ve also searched but couldn’t find a birth or death or mention of Leavi in any other census. However there is a birth registration for Louisa Lees in Newport Shropshire (GRO ref Vol18 page 145) in the September quarter of 1851 and a marriage for Louisa Lees to John Reece on 19 Sep 1870 at Donnington Wood. Her father was William Lees – collier. Witnesses were George Owen & Sabina Owen.(George Owen married Sabina Lees in 1870 registered in Wellington) so we know this is the right family. I can’t find Louisa anywhere in 1861 census so have now come to the conclusion that Leavi was the census enumerator’s version of Louisa and there was never a child named Leavi.
Comments more than welcome!

Hello,
Thank you for telling me about that Site. I have been surfing around it and found it most interesting. I am searching Humpherson/Lee(s)(e) lines, especially John Lee & Katherine Summerfield.
Again many thanks.
