Subsequently Charles Hart and Eleanor Marshall had another daughter, Ethel May Hart, born 1891 in Carlton, Victoria. The family moved to the Western Australian goldfields (Menzies), where Eleanor died of fever in 1899. Although I haven't found a death record I believe Charles also died of fever at the same time. Family stories say that the police brought the surviving child, aged about 8 years, to Alex and Ethel Nordberg, who had no children of their own.

Ethel died on 12 June 1907, aged 16, and is buried in Fremantle cemetery. Alex and Edith later had a child (when Edith was 46), who was my wife's grandmother. We have no photos of Ethel May Hart Nordberg, but her piano is still in the family.
