Title: Ivers Family
Post by: swampguts on Friday 23 May 08 04:17 BST (UK)
If any one is near the Inverurie cemetry could you please look up and photograph any Ivers that are buried there . They were C/E religion . I live in Australia and it will be another 15 years before i get there. I have asked distant relatives who still live in the town to do so , but this has not happened in two years so i do not htink its going to happen. I am not sure if they have headstones or not. My great granparents name were Henry and Isabelle, thier son Charles , daughter Eleonor Ruby , and son Johnh and his family are there. There is also a Colin Ivers who was a private and died overseas but may have a tribute there. Many thanks Kim

Hi Kim

If they were Church Of England then they are probably buried in Inverurie St Mary's as the Scottish Episcopal Church is part of the Anglican Communion and in communion with the Church of England.

It might help anyone who goes looking as there are 3 burial grounds in Inverurie. St Mary's is on the East side of High St.

Kirsty

I'll be in Inverurie on Thursday this week, so I'll see what I can find for you.

Where about in Oz are you? I worked in Perth for about 18 months. That was about 12 years ago.

Seems that the size limit at your end was much less than at my end, so I've send you a few emails with a couple of photos in each.

I live in Oldmeldrum which is about 5 miles from Inverurie.  If you look at the photos in the link Steve sent you, Page 15 I think, there is one of "Kool Kuts" hairdressers. If you go down to the bottom of the hill to the left of there and cross the road at the bottom, you'll end up in my back gate!

Cheers
Jim

Your Dad's grandparents could be in the other graveyard, as the one at St Mary's is quite small. I'll have a look the next time I'm there, but as I said in my email, I'm a bit busy for the next couple of weeks.

Cheers
Jim

Is this topic still valid or has it runs its course, I'm glad of being able to find some of the information held in the topic, I am interested in trying to continue from the aspect of a younger member of the family, but always the older info helps me as well
