Is anyone able to lookup when the above named came to Australia and the ship he sailed on.
He was born in Oldham Lancashire 1865 and married Sarah Linklater in Victoria 1888. Their son Frank Lincoln Kenyon was born in Brunswick in 1889.
Abraham died in 1943 Brunswick. I have his burial details but nothing about his occupation and when he came to Australia.
Many thanks

Hi Dinky
If you look on the PROV site, there is a couple of MR Kenyon 's arriving, between 1872 - 1888, aged from 27 - 45, NO A Kenyon, but may have come as Mr.......If you know his age at marriage, the site may help

thanks for that I will have a look at the site and see if I can find a match.

I think it is possible that he could have come with his parents on the Electoral Rolls I noticed that in the same area there was a John Kenyon and Esther Kenyon living together at the same address
both Abraham and John were basketweavers
So then I had a good look throught the indexs and found a death of Esther Kenyon
Esther Kenyon died aged 86 in 1917 Hberg
father Jos TRAVIS mother unknown reg no 12681
Now Travis is the surname showing on the death indexs for Abraham Lincoln Kenyon death details.
do you have either his death certificate or perhaps the marriage certificate
Oh and maybe you allready know this but he had a second wife who had achild born and died the same year?

1881 census
Oldham Lancashire
Living at 22 Park Road
John Kenyon Head aged 49 mar skip manfr born Manchester,Lancashire
Esther “ wife aged 50 mar Heywood
Walter son aged 26 skip manfr born Oldham
Jessie dau aged 20 Edinborough Scotland
A.Lincoln son aged 15 Oldham
Folia RG11/4064
so it would appear that Abraham arrived after 1881 and before 1888

Thank you Jenn
I had the 1881 census details and figured that he must have arrived betwen 1881 and 1888. I have not established a match for him as yet on the website Craizi gave me. I have however, found Albraham's parents John & Esther arriivng on the ship GERA Sept 1895. Abraham must have come out on his own.
Have you got the address you mention in the electoral rolls and the date of that entry.

HI Dinkey this is my first time on this so unsure how it goes , I am also trying to follow the Kenyon tree , Abraham Lincoln Kenyon is my husbands Great Grandfather I have not found out exactly when he came out but the dates you have are around the same time as his mother Esther came out I think she actually came out twice first in 1883 on the Respigadera and then on the Gera with Husband John Kenyon in 1895.
Abraham was a wicker worker or basket maker married Sarah Linklater in 1888 she died in 1907 age 45 both died in Victoria Australia and buried in the Kenyon plot in Coburg Cemetery.
I am trying to find out the exact parentage of John Kenyon who married Esther , as on the marriage certificate it shows Johns father name of William but on Johns Death certificate it shows John any help with this .

Hi Refennij
My name is Troy and Abraham Lincoln Kenyon was my father's great grandfather.
What is your husbands name?
Troy.
-
Welcome, Troy. Is there any further information you would like us to search for?
refinnej asked a while ago about the parentage of John KENYON (Abraham's father) married to Esther. A transcription of the marriage record for John and Esther gives John's father's name as William and the image of the baptism record for John (August 1833 at the parish church of Manchester) shows his parents as William (joiner) and Mary.
I notice dinkey has not logged into Rootschat since 2018 but should get an email telling him/her that there's been a post on this thread - hoping their email address is still the same.

Hi judb
I think Refennij's husband might be related to me based on their most recent post hence my comment.
I would like to find out more about my paternal grandfather, Francis Abraham John Lincoln Kenyon. Born 16 Apr 1923 and died 1986. He married Estha Spendelove in 1944. Divorced in 1946. Remarried in an unknown year to Carole and they had children Mark and Diane.
Hope you can help.
Thanks
Troy.

Electoral Rolls show him
1949 He has been crossed out (possibly moved to another address) but was at 2 Willowbank Rd, N7 with two others of the same surname. Occupation: wicker worker.
1958 Lillypilly Ave, Doveton. Occ: superintendent Caroline Edith Kenyonis at that address
1959 20 Page Ave, Port Melbourne, clerk. Caroline is at that address
1963, 1967, 1968 both at 12 Sheoke st, Doveton. He is a superintendent. The street is spelt Sheoake St in 1968
TROVE has a death notice 13 September 1952,for his child, John Lewis KENYON aged 3 years and nine months. Mentions his wife's parents' surname.

Can't see much else for him as his death was relatively recent.
