Title: WALLACE/WALLIS of Furneux Pelham
Post by: Opal on Thursday 12 June 08 08:54 BST (UK)
William Wallace/Wallis born 1899 in 1901 census but possibly 1898 at Furneux Pelham was a half brother to my grandmother, Edith Ellen Clarke b 1892 at FP.  Looking to find out what happened to him as i cannot find him in WW1 records or death register. Thankyou.

Since this post I have found William's christening in Furneux Pelham on the 11th September 1898.  He is in the 1901 census and in the 1911 census as a 'farm labourer'.
His father was William Wallace/Wallis b.1867 and Elizabeth nee Parker, Clarke from 1st marriage.
I possibly have found his 1st World War  record as a gunner in the Royal Heavy Artillery, Reg. Num 16362.
I am still searching for his death year, which I believe to be after 1945 (according to family knowledge), probably in the Bishop's Stortford area.
Does anyone have any knowledge of him?  Thank you.
