Title: IGNORE (now found): SPIRE / CLARK Marriage - anywhere?
Post by: RichardK on Thursday 12 June 08 09:06 BST (UK)
I'm trying to find the marriage of William SPIRE and Elizabeth CLARK.  Their first child was baptised at Buckland in Gloucestershire in 1834.  They don't appear to have married in Buckland, nor anywhere obvious in Gloucestershire.  In the 1841 census Elizabeth said she was not born in Gloucestershire, so she could be from anywhere - I know some members of William's family were quite mobile; his aunt had a London home.  Elizabeth died in 1845 and so doesn't appear in the more helpful 1851 census.  If anyone has any indexes of marriages for anywhere, could you just have a quick look and see if they've crept in please?  I know William was born in 1809, so we're probably looking for some time between 1825 and 1834 - although I suspect nearer 1834 than 1825.
Many thanks
Richard.

Hi Richard,
William Spire married Elizabeth Clark 8th July 1833 in Wootten Bassett Wiltshire.

Have you any info on Robert Spire born 1624 who married Alice about 1642?
