Can anyone help with my search for pictures and information on the Pakefield Lifeboat?

There is a little here (including photo) on the Caistor Lifeboat site about the "James Leith" that apparently served Pakefield from 1910.  You will need to scroll down a little.

Thanks for that Rick.

Since I posted on here I found out from another source that "James Leath" is currently on display at the Historical Dockyard at Chatham.
On looking at the link you posted it also says this.

Hi
I am a member of the RNLI and my father has been actively on the commitee for around 30 years, if we can help in any way, please let us know. We may be able to not only get hold of stories, but copies of documents and stories as well! If you let me know exactly what information you need, including any names and dates I will have a look for you as we also have access to information etc. which is not on display or even available to the general public.

I hope we can help!!

Might be worth browsing the Sense of Place Suffolk web site - also the SPS, Suffolk Photographic Survey which you will find at the Ipswich RO, and of course The Maritime Museum at Lowestoft.

My great grandfather was a member of the Pakefield lifeboat crew. I have undertaken some basic research on this subject and have a few pictures and general information. Please let me know if there is any specific information you require and I'll see if I can help you out.

Regards,

Ian

Hi,

In my research of the Pakefield Lifeboats so far, I hadn't found any evidence of Nathaniel Barber as coxswain of either no.1 or no.2 lifeboat.

If you have a look at my website http://www.pakefield.net/ and click on the lifeboat section, you will see that George Meek Warford was coxswain 1835 - 1923, and my 3rd Great GrandUncle Samuel James Martin was coxswain from 1843 - 1910.

I would be interested in any details that you have of Nathaniel Barber as coxswain of a Pakefield Lifeboat, the only reference I have found is http://www.plimsoll.org/resources/SCCLibraries/WreckReports/14844.asp

I have a colour postcard of the Pakefield Lifeboat, photographed at least around the end of the 19thC. being launched under sail.

It's a 'Jay Em Jay' Series card and is available for sale if anyone is interested.

I'm trying to attach a picture of the card but having some problems!
