William Sackree married Sarah Blakemore, in Leicester, in June 1/4 1838
I cannot find a Sackree~Deberex marriage.....
-
Hi 'alllegs'
I thought this one was going to be easy as it was such an unusual name - how wrong I was!!
On the 1871 Census did it show Sarah as a widow?
Many thanks for your input and help - not sure where to look next - but I'll keep trying it.
Regards
Kay

I cannot find a Sackree~Deberex marriage
Neither can I - have checked the complete BMD's from 1864 to 1868 but didn't look under 'suc'
Also looked under Deberex and only found a marriage for a Lousia Deberex. Perhaps both names were mis-spelt
If all else fails would suggest sending for birth cert of one of the children
Ada Sophia Deberex
Birth registered qrt ending Dec 1867
Leicester
Volume: 7a
Page: 214
Sarah had 'W' next to her name on the 1871

Hi - I had a little look at this today
I found a marriage ref 1864 Jan-Mar qtr Leicester
for Thomas Debe_Ex Vol 7a page 300
and instead of 4 people on the page there are only 3 given, however I can't get ancestry to let me access the corresponding page for the surname Sackree to see if there is a Sarah with the same ref - perhaps someone else could try or better still someone with a sub to FindMyPast
I have also found a birth reg
Thomas Debrax
Mar qtr 1845 Leicester
and a death
Thomas Deberex
Birth abt 1842
Death Dec 1890 Brighton
which might work - if Thomas had just left Sarah rather than died it would explain why she didn't remarry, I have found her in 1881 & 1891 with different male heads of household and some more children - children all called Deberex
:)

And to fit in with the above theory, I have just found the marriage Sept qtr 1891 Leicester
of Sarah Deberex and one of the partner options in John Thorne B Cooksey which is who 'our' Sarah is living with at the time of the census earlier that year
;D

Ancestry won't let me took at any S surnames in 1st 1/4 1864 either....
-
Hi - thanks for checking that, glad its not just me doing something daft - what we need I think is someone with a sub to find my past
:)

-
Ancestry is still being a pain....
GenesReunited has a guy called Darren with & Thomas Deberex and Sarah Sackree in his tree... I would contact him but I'm not a member anymore....
Also on Ancestry there is a private tree from the Lee family who have Ada Deberex, may be worth contacting them too....
Actually I think they must be the same person as I just clicked on send a msg on GR and the guy's surname is Lee.

Hi Folks
Thank you for your continuing help on the Deberex family - however I think we may have gone off track! It was JAMES THOMAS B that I was looking for not Thomas.
I know the 1871 showed him as Thomas J but I have his birth
(index: 9/1869 Leicester 7a 238) and his marriage to Nellie B Harrold (index: 12/1915 Leicester 7a 738) both show him as JAMES THOMAS.
1881 shows him as JAMES with his mother Sarah and siblings living in the house of Joseph Pilkington. Not sure who Sarah was married to or who James father was.
This one has been confusing me.
Again many thanks
Regards
Kay
-
That's who we're trying to find Kay, your James Thomas' father.
His mother was Sarah Sackree and his father was ??? Deberex. Possibly Thomas Deberex linking to the 1864 marriage found earleir.
Quick note ~ the FreeBMD thomas Debe_Ex marriage actually says Deberex on the original...
-
Hi Kay
I(we) think that Sarah Sackree the mother of James Thomas Deberex, was married to the Thomas Deberex, we have been disscussing and after his death in 1890 married again to John Thorne B Cooksey
:)

Hi Folks
Just to let you know I sent an e.mail to Darren on GR on the 26 June but so far no reply, but perhaps I'm not showing enough patience!

You might have already solved this one,but there IS a Sarah Sackree on the marriage page of Find MY Past with the same ref number.
Leicester 7a page 300.
Dunno why it isn't on Ancestry yet, maybe it's one page they don't have access to yet?

Hi Carol,

I'm just wondering if there is a link to my Debrox/Deberex/Debonet/Debonex family in Leicester.
How many variations can one surname have?
All I have at the moment (as I need to figure out more possible spellings) is Harriett Debrox/Debonex marrying Thomas Franks in Leicester in 1852. Harriet's father is named as John Debrox.
Any link do you think?

After I posted I found this... think its the same John as listed on the Welford burials, and 'may' be mine.
Name: John Debruk
Birth year: abt 1800
Year of registration: 1869
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Age at death: 69
District: Leicester (1837-1974)
County: Leicestershire
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Tracey
I do have a Harriet Deberex in my tree but she wasn't born intil 1876 her father was Thomas. This family is a work in progress so although I see no connection at present - you never know in this game!!
If I come across anything interesting I'll be in touch.
Regards
Kay

Thanks for the reply :)
I have seen Harriett Deberex born 1876.
I've not found a connection with your Thomas/Sarah Sacree either, but its such an unusual surname (think I have found about 15 variants so far!) that the chances are there is a connection. The births/marriages I have found so far were all at St Margarets if this helps.
Thanks again.

Hi
i have Thomas DEBREX marring Sarah SACKREE in the tree i'm researching ... i also belive Thomas is listed with mother Eliza on the 1851... i have a birth which is i'm sure him in Leicester 1845 which is a few years out on the death in brighton but ( depending on who buried Thomas ) would fit .

My surname is Deberex :)

Hi
I know this is an old post but I'm also descended from Harriett Debrox she is my 4th grt grandmother.
I havnt found a bapt for her but I have a 1851 census record for her living as a lodger with the Jennings family in Leicester and listed as Harriett Debberret born abt 1832 Leicester.
I havnt seen the John Debruk baptism 1800 Leicester so that's interesting.
I've had John Debrox/Deborex and Dorothy as her parents and I think Harriett is the Hannah Debrex bapt 1831 Leicester as there isnt a Hannah living with John and Dorothy in Grantham in 1851.
Harriett also lists John Debrox a blacksmith as father on her marriage certificate, this is the same occupation as John deborex.
My reasoning as to why Harriett stayed in Leicester and didn't go to Grantham was that she had already met Thomas franks and stayed in Leicester to be with him.
