Hi
Did James have any siblings? James's father,  Michael, who was his father and mother? Some informtion on the extended family would help to place them. Avoca is a very small town.

My great great grandmother was Rose Caroll, she married John Corcoran, their daughter Margaret was born in 1855 in Avoca. Wicklow. She may have had a sister called Brigida. Margaret married William Bestal in 1888.  Not sure if this info is any help
