Title: Bristol FLYNGs
Post by: v i c k y on Wednesday 23 July 08 21:09 BST (UK)
Just wondering if anyone's got any FLYNGs in their tree.

I always thought it was FLYNN, but it's not.

FLYNG is much more fun. ;)

Hi. I'm a Flyng and am having problems progressing back further than 1902! A bit pathetic, but I am new to this...! My father was Kenneth Charles Flyng born 1/9/1927 in Bristol of Carson and Lilian Flyng (nee Price). Carson was one of twins born in 1902. His brother was William. Mr father had a stillborn (I think) brother called Carson born 1932 and a sister called Pamela (DOB inknown), who married Ernie Wintle and had two kids - a boy and a girl.
My mother was a Nettle, also of Bristol, and born 24/1/1927 to Frederick and Gladys Audrey Nettle (nee Nott). She had a sister named Thelma born 1925. And that is all I have - any help would be very gratefully received!!!

Sorry I've not seen this until now.

The FLYNG in my tree is through my BARRINGTON line. I have an Elizabeth FLYNG (1823-1891) married to William George BARRINGTON. She later remarried and became a LORYMORE and had a daughter called Elizabeth Flyng LORYMORE (1860-1891).

I have Elizabeth Flyng LORYMORE's death certificate and her half-brother Henry BARRINGTON is given as the informant/"in attendance".

I see there's more at your thread, so I'll repeat this and catch up with you there. :)
