TO THE BEST OF MY MOTHERS KNOWLEDGE THE AIRCRAFT WENT DOWN IN HOLLAND. MY UNCLE NEVER IDENTIFIED. MY MOTHER MET A FEW YEARS AGO AN AIR WAR HISTORIAN WHO GAVE HER FULL DETAILS OF THE AIRCRAFT AND DETAILS OF ITS LAST FLIGHT. I REMEMBER AS A CHILD SEEING A PHOTO OF A GRAVE FOR THE CREW. MY UNCLE 's NAME IS ON THE BOARDS AT RUNNYMEAD RAF MEMORIAL.

I HAVE NOW CHECKED WITH MY MOTHER WHO CONFIRMS THAT SGT JOHN VICTOR ROBINSON WAS A FLIGHT ENGINEER ON A STIRLING BOMBER WHO WAS MISSING IN ACTION DURING A RAID ON KASSEL IN AUGUST 1942.
HE WAS AGED 23 AND LIVED IN A SMALL COTTAGE IN KENT WITH A WIFE CALL 'JUDY' THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME DOUBT IF THAT WAS HER REAL NAME. THEY HAD ONE CHILD BY THAT UNION 'HEDLEY'
HEDLEYWAS A COMMISIONED OFFICER IN THE STAFFORDSHIRE REGT AND WAS MARRIED AT DOVER CASTLE, POSS 1967.
MY MOTHER STATES SHE HAD A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE PILOTS AND THREE UNIDENTIFIED AIRMANS GRAVE IN THE NETHERLAND, THERE WAS A ROW OF POPLAR TREES CLOSE BY.

Great - what would you like to know? Let me know and I can either provide it or find someone who can.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply. If you are Hedleys Daughter, we would like to meet you and welcome you to our Family which would allow you to meet your Grandfathers Sister who is now 91 and most of your aunts And Uncles.

I know this an old thread but I am helping the International Bomber Command Centre to find more "meat on the bones" for their losses database.
If anyone is in contact with his family I can pass on the email address for the person compiling the biographies.
