I am looking for descendents of James Greene who was married to Catherine Hayes. They had 11 children, 9 of whom emigrated to the US. James died in 1928. James had a brother who went to Dublin and eventually became a solicitor, he was my g/grandfather.
Any information gratefully received!

can you give me an aprox age and name looked at the BVRI and there are loads of Greens

James was 84 when he died in 1928, so that would make his date of birth 1844 or 1845. My g/grandfather, his brother, was born in 1843. It is really members of James' descendents I am trying to trace or contact, I am sure there must be some still in the area. Have drawn a complete blank with finding any of his family who went to the US.

James & Catherine are married 35 yrs 14 children born, 11 living.

Bridget Greene b. March 1878 appears on US Census 1900 in Philadelphia Ward 9 Pennsylvania as a Servant. Year of immigration 1898. :)

In addition to James, Bridget & Kate the following named children of James Greene & Catherine Hayes:
Daniel, Thomas, Josephine, Roger, Margaret, Maurice, Annie & Johanna.
There is a Marriage for a Johanna Greene to William Daly Reg District Limerick Jan/feb/March 1920. Vol 5 Page 323. Johanna I estimate was born c. 1897.
If you want to establish if this is the daughter of James & Catherine you can order the marriage Cert from www.groireland.ie and if you are keen to locate descendants you could proceed to try & locate any children this couple may have had. The records are also available on www.rootsireland.ie which is a pay site :)

James Greene married Margaret Alley on 2nd February 1820 in Newcastlewest church. Patrick Greene was born in 1821.Mary Alley her sister married Patrick Dillane and they were my ggggrandparent.The Greenes lived in Grouse lodge Ardagh.His grandson James died in 1928 and is buried in Ardagh Cemetary.

Hey all,
My Great Grandparents are James and Catherine (Hayes) Greene of Grouse Lodge. Their son Maurice Greene (My Grandfather) emigrated to New York city in 1908. His brother Daniel was killed in WW1.
Do I have any relatives out there that i don't know about??
