I have a Kate England aka Catherine buried Rookwood 16 Jul 1901. I would like grave location and any reference to Husband William George England or other family members.

I have checked the Rookwood cd and they are not on it, probably no headstone
There are two Williams without a second name, died 1924 and 1928

John,
William and Kate were my gr.gr.gr. grandparents (through their son, Richard William ENGLAND). I'd be very interested in exchanging information if you were interested.
Best regards,
Gina.

Have found this burial entry for William England Rookwood Cemetery;
William England age 75 27/5/1914 Zone C NN 1193
NSW Death rego. William G England rego 6202/1914 Father William Mother Kate District Granville.
Could this be a clue? maybe Kate should be Wife not Mother?
also Kate's registration of death;
rego NSW; Kate England rego 8946/1901 no other details District Canterbury

Thanks very much for that, Suzy.
I have death certificates for both William and Kate. Kate's is pretty straightforward, but William's is problematic, it's one of those documents where the details were provided by someone who was not part of the family (the clerk at the Rookwood Asylum) and after the person in question (William) had died. Some of the information is correct, some is incorrect, and some is open to speculation. My assumption is that the details of William's birth and parents are incorrect, because there's too much conflict with other sources. However there are some family stories which might give hints to what really happened and I'm trying to connect with other descendants to discover whether there might be any truth to those stories.
Probably time to open another thread!

Hi stegy3
Are you able to get Rookwood Asylum records?
I had one of these and was able to obtained the Asylum records, gave me a great insight as to my brick wall. Cannot believe the reason my rellie was even in an Asylum to start with???
Good luck!

Asylum records, that's a good idea. That's just at the NSW State Records, yes?
William's background is checkered, and so I'm not entirely sure what reason he might have for being in there ...
Thank you for the suggestion, I'll follow that up.

yes the Rookwood Asylum guess it is in Rookwood, the index maybe online at your state archives. I'm from WA.
Will be interested in the results.

That's a nice summary of the history.
NSW State Records have a couple of microfilm sets of records of admissions and discharges for individuals - looks like I may have to work out how to get to those.
