I don't know whether I've missed something obvious, but I am trying to find the following person in 1891 Census and cannot find her anywhere!
Emily Hester born 1886 (+/-1) Wycombe
I have her in 1901, but she is not with her family :'(
I may well have to order a birth certificate to find out her parents, but was trying to avoid it if possible :-\

Wondered if Emily was illigitimate born to either Emily Arabella or Caroline??

Thanks very much, you've certainly given me an interesting possibility!
Her birth was registered in Wycombe and she certainly lived all her adult life in Wycombe Marsh (and is buried in High Wycombe cemetery too!)so I'm not sure on this one. Henley is not exactly far away, but why would they have her born in London? May be to hide the illegitimacy??
By 1901 she was living with and working as a servant for a CofE priest and his family (in Wycombe) - do you think they wanted her to be taught a higher moral code?!
I think I'm going to have to order the certificate for this one to get any definite answers.

Please come back and let us know what is says :D

Well I'm a little bit wiser, but not much!!
I received Emily Hester's birth cert. She was born 17 Oct 1886 in Wycombe. Her parents were Charles Hester and his wife Fanny (nee Muspratt/Mispratt) Have found her parents in 1881 & 1901 with some of her siblings, but still cannot find any of them in 1891 :-\ Of course just to make it awkward there are two Charles & Fanny Hesters of similar ages, I've found the other pair in 1891 but not mine :(
Have tracked down Charles Hester in an earlier census with his parents, but cannot find Fanny anywhere other than what I think is their marriage in 1878 :-\
This little branch is proving to be rather frustrating >:(
-
This is the marriage for them:
Marriages Sep 1878
HESTER Charles Hambledon 2a 194
Muspratt Fanny Hambledon 2a 194
There are two other Charles and Fanny marriages :P
Marriages Dec 1868
Hester Charles Wycombe 3a 626
Twitchen Fanny Wycombe 3a 626
Marriages Sep 1885
Bareham Fanny Eliza St. Saviour 1d 216

Thanks for having a look mab :D
I don't think that is her :-\
In 1881 census her birthplace is down as Middlesex/London (RG11/1466 District 5 Page 12)
and in 1901 her birthplace is Tottenham Court Road, London (RG13/1348/20/7)
Then there's her marriage which is in Hambledon district which was Sussex/Surrey border.
None of that is anywhere near Wiltshire! There do seem to be a lot of Muspratt's in Wiltshire but I haven't found the link yet.
The number of Charles & Fanny Hester's have been very confusing, but my Charles Hester was a bricklayer not a gamekeeper (nothing that posh in this family!!!)
-
That was the only birth for a Fanny :-\
