Probably the wrong one, the Lavenham John appeared to marry a Lydia Springett in Lavenham in 1836, according to the Suffolk Marriage Index.
Do you have more detail on your John, wifes name, children.

Hi Sue
Regretably not! His parents were William Lambert & Martha (nee Whitehead) but they may have died prior to 1841. He had siblings William (b 1807) Elizabeth (1801) Mary (1796) & possbily Frances (1799) all Ixworth.
He could perhaps have died prior to 1841 then?
Thanks

From NBI
Martha LAMBERT
Date of burial: 8 Mar 1835
Age at death: 63
Calculated year of birth: 1772
Place of burial: Ixworth St Mary

Hi Sue
This is almost certainly John & William's mother, as Martha (nee Whitehead) was ch Ixworth 24th Dec 1774.
I have tried in vain to find Martha's marraige to William (senior) but with no luck even with someone looking at the parish registers in Ixworth for me!!!
Thanks

The nearest I can find on Boyds marriage index is the following.
1795 / LAMBERT WM /RIGHT MARTH / BURY ST EDMUNDS ST MARY
-
Hi Sue
This looks a possibility as I had estimated the marriage to be between 1792 & 1796 and Bury St bedmunds isn't that far away.
Do you know how I could get any further details if there are any?
Thanks again
Ian

If you email or phone Suffolk Record Office and tell them the date and place, they will probably look it up for you. It may tell you what parish they were from, if not Bury and whether widow/widower. The witnesses names may be useful. Very often couples went to the nearest big town from the outlying villages to get wed.
Where did you get Marthas maiden name from, was it the childrens baptisms?
-
Hi Sue
Yes it was from William Lambert's christening 02/02/1807. It quotes his mother as Martha Lambert 'late Whitehead spinster' ?
Thanks again
If correct marraige then perhaps Martha married mr Wright before William Lambert snr?
