Hi
I am looking for any info on David Polworth who was born abt 1828 in Berwickshire, Scotland. He was married to Jannet (not sure of maiden name) and they had one son born in Scotland in 1856 - James.
I have also found 3 children on the 1881 census who were all born in Woodford, Essex. The children were Alice b 1856, George b 1865 and James 1867.
Any help would be appreciated please!
Many thanks
Victoria

I have quite a few pictures of the churches for Foulden, Whitsome and Ladykirk, (both interior and exterior pictures).
If you want any copies just send me a pm.
Foulden church is about 200 years old so would have been pretty new at the dates mentioned in the post above. The parish was very small and the population less than 400 up until the 1850's.
If any of the baptisms took place at the church i wonder if the old font was possibly used?

Welcome Donna,
Lovely that you have joined, sadly there has been no reply from Victoria, who posted this query. She hasn't been on this site since she posted the message.
I hope she is well.
Maybe Glen will be willing to help.

Hello
My wife is doing research of her family and found that she is direct related to James Polwarth. This must be brother of David Polwarth as this tread is about, and the son of William Polwarth and Elisabeth Baird. We are now trying to find out more on the parents of William Polwarth and Elisabeth Baird.
Any tips in that direction. We are also going to Scotland, and the Duns this Christmas to try to find out more.

I have been helping a friend at work who is a decendent of the Polworth line. I would be happy to pass on any info on the family if anyone is interested.
Best wishes to all
