Eddie,

So Mary Elizabeth Wilson should be on the 1901 census as an 9 yr old.

There is one in Byker called Mary E aged 10. But her siblings do not match those you mentioned.

So is it possible that some of those siblings were born after the 1901 census was taken.

As you know I am referring to the 1901 census because that is the latest census record we can access ( 1911 edition out next year)

Do you know who she married ?

MD

Eddie,

You might be wondering ( like I was) why I made reference to Walker !

Whilst I was thinking about your Mary Elizabeth ".. a welder in the shipyard..."
I was at the same time dealing with a Walker item... and so my mind took me to welding in Walker ?

My great grandmother is Mary Wilson and my grandmother is Maria shale .. tho I’m confused out how she was born in 1914 died then born again in 1915 same parents names .
Tho I have found some crazy stuff in my family going off story’s of royals … but of course proving that is very difficult . Even when dna match showes all names
But Windsor .

It was very common back then to "re-use" a name of a child who'd died when a subsequent child was born. So your Maria was Mary's second daughter of that name - the first having died the same quarter of 1914 as her birth

A birth registered in the June qtr could have been born as early as the end of February for the birth to be registered in the April/May/June qtr as they would have 6 weeks to register the birth
