Details:

-born at Selkirk 1900
-married Annie Duncan Adamson 18/6/1926
-died at Galashiels 1968
-was a son of John Brown (1860-1934) and Isabella Trotter (1864-1907)

Any help will be appreciated.

I am descended from George Brown. b. Scotland c.1890, d. 1968 NSW, AU.
John & Isabella are parents on his D/Cert.   Named his own sons Alex & Pringle.
Your post has helped me find likely line of mine, so I hope this info is useful.  Can supply more if it helps.

Hello OCadhla
It is over three years since I posted 'Pringle Brown' so was quite surprised to get your reply.  Thanks to help from a cousin in Scotland I have been able to discover most info re Pringle's family.
It would appear that you and I share 2x ggrandparents (John Brown & Mary Renwick) and I would be quite interested to 'compare notes'.  I have been unable to confirm the death of John Brown and he remains a bit of a ? in my tree.
I actually sent you a private message but I think there is a rule on this site which requires that there be 3 contacts before this is allowed.  (so you may not get it)
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello OCadhla
I have been looking at our connection and have found a Pringle Brown married Elizabeth Joyce Turner in 1941 and they lived in Neath NSW.  He was a miner.
Am curious as to whether this Pringle is any relation to you?
Cheers
Bill

Yes, I believe he is younger son of George Brown c. 1890-1968.

George's other children are Margaret Jean 1914 - 2001, married William Alfred Coleman 1933.  Jean and Alf have 22+ descendants, all but one living, including me.  OCadhla is how my name used to be spelt in old Gaelic.

Older son is Alexander George Thomas Brown c. 1916 - July 6 1984, m. Gertrude Maud Smailes, Kempsey 1940.   Don't know their descendants.   Pic of George attached.

Thanks.

Also can anyone ID this chap?  Photo taken at Burlington's of Haymarket Edinburgh c. 1900.  Might be Pringle or John.

Hello, I new to this site and have just been reading your posts.  My Greatgrandmother was called Jane Pringle and came from Selkirk, her 3 daughters were called Jean, Nancy and Euphamia.

Hello Hawaii0403
Welcome to Rootschat.
I have a Jane Pringle on my tree but she is only related by marriage - 'niece of wife of great grand uncle'.
She was born in Selkirk about 1895 to parents George Pringle and Euphemia Trotter.
Look familiar?
Cheers,  Bill.

Noticed 'The Haining' near Selkirk was home of Pringle family in 1700's, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selkirk,_Scottish_Borders#Landmarks.  Has it own wiki page too.
