there are 2 possible death regs for an Eliza Powell registered Builth in 1868.

In 1871 this possible family
Caio(?), Crickadarn RG10/5575 folio 50 pg 17
David Powell head mar 40 farmer of 40 acres
Mary Ann wife 23
David son 6
Elizabeth Ann dau 4
Mary dau 2
William Davies nephew 14 farmers servant
Ann Morgan 15 servant
all born Breconshire

2 possible marriages for David To Mary Ann registered Builth
march qtr 1863 with Mary Ann Pugh on the same page
march qtr 1870 with Mary Ann Williams on the same page

Mary Ann would be young, but not impossibly so, to marry in 1863 which is why I'm wondering if there was a remarriage.

Do you have David's marriage certificate to confirm father's name & occupation?

Thanks Fisherman and Osprey
I do not have any certificates But an Uncle (gone now) said his father's mother was Eliza Meale married to to David Powell farmer. and Caie is in the right area Davids father was a John Powell wife Ann ?so he said.  Looks like Eliza died after possible the birth of the third child and David  remarried Did they move later to some where  around the same area beginning with P I feel sure you have the right family Did Mary Ann have any children with David.

:D Brilliant  both of you  thank you very much
Every thing you have both found is correct except the  the 1861 census for Margaret Morris's  parents they were William Morris and Mary Ann Borre  but  they only had girls I think seven they did live Radnorshire and Margaret was the oldest  the only other names i remember are Agnes  Molly and Jinny ? I think you are right about John Morris being Margaret/s grandfather
Chris 1841census that looks right too Tyisha, there was  still  distant family living there until recently Is it possible to go back past John ?

As luck would have it a friend of mine is going there on Thursday to look up some stuff for me so I will slip in John's details as well    ;) ;D ;D

Hi Acer,

Can't find the family together in 1901.
Tyleheulog is now being farmed by David Powell who is married to Margaret (eldest of the Morris girls)
With them is her sister Mary Ann Morris.  Down as visitor is a John Morris, retired farmer aged 72.

Hi Osprey,

It would make sense that both parents had died by 1901 because the girls are scattered around.
Where is Emily hiding?

I've tried Emilly with blank surname b. Radnorshire & Breconshire. She could be hidden under the surname of the family she's with, badly transcribed, she could be married but she's certainly hiding very well.

Hi Acer,

I wasn't going to give up on Emily so had to keep looking.

Results fron Llandrindod.

There was no record in the parish register for Crickadarn of the marriage of John Powell and Anne.

Baptism records of the children
Rees 15 March 1818  residence North ???
William 11 October 1820  residence North ???
Elizabeth 30 May 1824  residence North ???
David 30 April 1826   residence Tyifsa (sic) We know this is Tyisaf.

The residence for the three eldest looks like North but it's very badly faded and difficult to read.

As for the marriage for John and Anne it might be worth checking neighbouring parishes.

Chris

Hello All

I have just read this thread and it is of great interest as my Granny was Eliza Ann who is in the pictures mentioned

I also remember Elvet Powell from Erwood who may have been a son or grandson from Tyle heolog

I hope some of the original posters can contribute some more, maybe Chris, Emily and Osprey?

My great Grandmother Mary Anne Morris (Boore) has her name on two gravestones, on the boxed Boore family memorial in Franksbridge and on her own gravestone with William Morris in Cregrina.

Hi Acer

Many thanks for your reply, I remember Elvet visiting my Mum when she was in the old folks home, I think he had a three wheeler if my memory isn't playing tricks, I remember visiting Erwood circa 50+ years ago. I wish I'd taken more notice of my late Mum when she as talking about the family.
I only have one Aunty left now and she had a stroke circa 2001 so communication is difficult.
