Hi, I am looking for Samuel Thomas Washington was second marriage to Phoebe Barrell, apparently there was a note they married who was her mothers younger brother and therefore her own uncle.
Samuel’s his first wife was Jane Paxman and she was died at her age 29 which mean was married to Phoebe in a few years later also had about 14 children – most are from Lambeth, Fulham & Battersea. I cannot find their marriage records of them, they possible married by prohibited married or in somewhere.
I have been searching their married records from 1885 to 1905 – no luck!
Phoebe was born 28 Feb 1869, Westminster, London, England
Death: 26 Sept 1948, Fulham, London, England.
Census records: 1891 and 1901.
Samuel Thomas Washington – born 21 Dec 1851, Westminster, Middx
Death: 1923, Fulham
Census records: 1891 and 1901
First Marriage to Jane Paxman in Sept 1879.
Is there can you find any record of Samuel & Phoebe? Is possible Phoebe may be married before Samuel??? (This is very unlikely).

This could be the marriage of Phoebe's parents but no luck tracing her marriage so far

I am not 100% certain of this so you need to check it out. I think that a marriage between an uncle and a niece may have been legally prohibited in those days which may account for why you cannot find a marriage
Jane died in the June qtr 1889 and Phoebe is shown as "wife" in 1891 although all children at that time were born to Jane

I can confirm that Phoebe's mother Emma and Samuel were siblings
1861 census for Westminster. Children all b Westminster
