Could you possible do a look up for me please Joseph Bills married Jane Weaver in the last quarter of 1900. I would like to know any details you might be able to obtain from their marriage details. :D
Thank you
Ann Davies

Unless you know the parish (not just registration district), and someone has access to Parish registers for that Parish, then you will have to buy the mArriage cert to get the details.
-
ok thank you :)

I have located the parish in Newport for the Marriage of Joseph Bills and Jane Weaver, it is Maindee St John, can anyone do a look up for me please. ???

Hi,
I stumbled across your post whilst starting out looking at my family tree (only using free resources at the moment) ;)
From the work I've done so far I am pretty sure that Joseph Bills and Jane Weaver would be my Great Grandparents on my fathers line. I wonder if you managed to find out any information on them you would be willing to share.
Best wishes
Andy

Steve,
Thanks for so much info. I may have gone down a blind alley though.I expected the Joseph and Jane Weaver to have ended up living in South Wales where my nan was born (Amy Bills) in 1913 I think. They definitely married in Newport at Mainde. My nan said her family came from the W Mids so I may have put 2 and 2 together and got 5.
Thanks again

Hi Ray,
Thanks. I am Just starting off in tracing the family tree beginning with what little I remember from my nan. Muriel was her sister, but I don't know about the others children you found. I knew she was a Bills and her family hailed from the west mids, so maybe Wokverhampton. i don't think the dates and children on the one Steve found didn't make sense. I may have misinterpreted it though.

Hi Andy
Steve has amended/corrected the family posted.
Steve's posts are (at the moment) a different family

Andy
Do you have any of your grandmother's documents? (Birth or Marriage?)
Ray
-
Sadly, no. She married my grandad Henry James Duncan, it was her family I know very little about, except her maiden name Bills and The family hailing from the W Mids. I assumed work within the coal industry maybe brought them to South Wales, but that's just a guess. It certainly connects the two areas

Shall we have a cup of tea while info is being digested?
Shout if anything is needed.

Andy71 my grandfather was Llewellyn (Lou) one of your grandma's brothers, I too am struggling to piece together their history, but it would be great to compare records.

Hi Jo,
Sorry for the very slow reply. In short, I have not done any further research but still plan to when I am able to do so, work and family commitments permitting. When I do, I will be sure to let you know anything I find.
Kind regards
Andy
