I'm researching the Sime family who lived at 5 Temple Crescent in Crail. James Sime was a butcher abd the family consisted of James and Catherine, 3 daughters and John Sime. John emigrared to Canada in 1913. However, I cannot find Temple Crescent on today's map! Did it actually exist?
Can anyone tell me where James Sime had his shop- he was obviously fairly successful as the family had a servant girl listed on the 1891 census.
any help appreciated.

In the 1891 census James Sime the butcher and family were living in the High Street.

Temple Crescent does indeed exist. Penman butchers is in Crail but nothing to do with Simes. If you Google Simes the butcher in Anstruther ( next village to Crail) you may find its the same family.
