I think Amy should have put 34 on the 1901 :P - perhaps she didn't want to appear older than Reginald ?
The one I have given is the only birth I can see for Amy Louisa Lloyd in the area :-\
-
Nice start Mum - that's almost certainly a transcription error I would have thought, perhaps the 1891 will help

Reginald Armistead died Dec Q 1904 Birkenhead 8a 397 aged 32
This ties in with family memory

David - Amy Louisa:
I can see only one born about 1868 in the Birkenhead district. She was the daughter of John Ellis Lloyd b. 1834 Whitford, Flint and Eliza Bennet Gregg b. 1833 Nottingham.
John and Eliza were married Q3. 1855 West Derby Vol. 8b. Pg. 686.
There were 6 children. You can find them on the 1881 Rg11. p. 3586 Fol. 39 Pg. 14
This is the 1871, posted since it has a couple of "extras" like John's middle name and Eliza's mother 8)

I know it says Mary L, and so does the image - but this just has to be Amy ;D
I have the 1891 if you want it. In 1891 John was the Auditor to the Corporation Burial Board :o :D
-
Additional children:
Well, I should think Amy Noelle registered Q1. 1905 Birkenhead Vol 8a. Pg. 528 is almost certainly one :-\
Apart from Edward, the only other Armistead registered there in the time frame was also in Q1. 1905 Eileen, Vol. 8a. Pg. 529 :-\
-
Yes please to the 1891
I agree with you over the missing children, trying to work out how to post a picture of the orphanage

Yes I agree with you, based on the correlation between all siblings on the 1881, Mary L must be Amy

Reginld Walter was the youngest of 11 children.
His parents were Edward Armistead b. 1823 Leeds, Yorkshire and
Sarah Ann Warton Harrison b. 1828 Leeds.
They were married in Leeds Q1. 1846
This is the 1881: RG11. P. 4540 Fol. 56 Pg. 13
I have all the other censuses and will post details if required :D
By 1891 Sarah Ann was a widow and had moved with 4 of the younger children, including Reginald, to Toxteth, Liverpool.

Armistead : Edward says born 1823/4 Leeds on every census.
IGI - submitted - so needs to be verified - bap 15 Sept 1822 Leeds. Parents Joseph Armistead and Hannah Wilson.
The only Edward Armistead I can see on the 1841 census is age 17, living in Birkenhead, Cheshire; no occupation shown and no other Armistead in the household. Not born county. Possible.
There is a Joseph Armistead who might be his father age 45, living in Leeds and has a 20 year old male named Wilson Armistead living with him :-\
On purely circumstantial evidence only, this scenario seems to hang together, because this is the 1851:
1851
HO107. P. 2321 Fol : Pg. 1
St Georges Place, Leeds
ARMISTEAD
Edward Head M 28 Oil Merchant B. Yorkshire Leeds
Sarah A Wife M 24 B. Yorkshire Leeds
Hannah Dau 3 B. Yorks, Leeds
Joseph Son 1 B. America ?Cincinate? British Subject
So - two eldest children with the names Joseph and Hannah :-\
-
1861
RG9. P. 3390 Fol. 87 Pg. 24
2 Hanover Place, Leeds
Edward is Clerk in Mustard Oil Company
Children on this census: birth registrations found:
Hannah Sofia Q1. 1847 Leeds
Kate Q1. 1853 Leeds
Fanny Q1. 1855 Leeds
Charlotte Blanche Q4. 1856 Leeds
William Q4. 1858 Leeds
Between 1861 and 1871 they seem to have moved about a bit.
In 1871 they are back in Yorkshire :
1871
RG10. P. 4300 Fol. 55 Pg. 21
Halfway House, Adel cum Eccup, Yorks
Edward is a Retired Brush Maker.
The children born between these censuses :
Florence Wilson Q2. 1863 Kirkstall
Edward Q4. 1865 Thirsk
Thomas Webster Q3. 1867 Thirsk
Emily Gertrude Q4. 1868 Salford
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
In 1861 Joseph, born 1850 in America, was at boarding school in Harrogate, Strawberry Valley School. I can't see him thereafter.

Florence G G/dau 11 months B. Liverpool
I think Florence A is daughter-in-law : Q4 1889 West Derby Thomas Webster Armistead marriage: Florence Annie Costigan on the same page.
Edward Armistead death reg. Q4. 1889 Toxteth Park Vol. 8b Pg.164 aged 66
Sarah Ann Armistead death reg: Q4. 1894 Toxteth Park Vol. 8b. Pg. 139 Age 67
-
There doesn't seem to be anything useful on the IGI for Sarah Ann's bap. and there are half a dozen Sarah Ann Harrisons on the 1841 but none living in Leeds :-\
The marriage certificate will be needed to take that line back ;)
-
Mum, You've done a tremendous job thank you very much ;D

Sarah Ann's surname is in fact Webster not Warton Harrison. I also made this mistake in the beginning.
