Hi
Request look up for a George Boulton born about 1822 in Staffordshire. He later married a Mary ? who was born in 1824 ish.
Many thanks
-
Hi,
Is this the George, Brickworks manager, born Madeley (from 1861 census)?
If this is the right George, then a relative may have been living next door in 1861, Hannah Boulton, is that right?
It helps to find them in earlier census if you give as much information as possible, birthplace, occupation, etc.

Hi
I found them in the 1861 Census born Madely (George).
They had the following family in 1861.... William 10, Hannah 7, Emily 6, Sarah 3,
Henry 4, Elizabeth 6 months.
I don't think not sure really that it is the George brickworks manager in the 1881 Census!!!!!!

If that's the right George, in 1861 - he was a Brickworks manager on that census!
Here's the possible marriage registration:

Are you working backwards from a known relative, perhaps a son, with birth certificate to show both his parents' names, as there are a couple of George Boultons and it would be best to start from something definite

Many thanks that must be him......Did you see anything in the 1841 ?
I think his mother was possible a Hannah b abt 1783 and a brother James b abt 1814.
Many thanks for all your help :)
-
As I said, there are a few in 1841, 6 actually, born between 1821-1827 bearing in mind that adult ages are usually rounded down to nearest 5 years in the 1841 census
There is this one with mother Hannah, but no brother James, he could have been away from home, but you'd need the marriage cert for George and Mary to be sure of his father's name and occupation

-
Barbara
It looks like to me that this is the right George..Unless you know differant.
thanks
-
Yes, but not in 1841/51, he wasn't at home with mother Hannah in either census :-\

Barbara
The 1861 Census that his him I will send for the marriage certificate.....
I took the date for Hannah Boulton from her age of 78 in the 1861 Census.
Do you think that the 2 families are now mixed up ?
-
No, just gave you the wrong family (wrong Hannah & George) earlier although I didn't know it was wrong at the time, have now amended the post so that you don't get them mixed up!

Barbara
Again many thanks for your help. :)
