Title: census lookup woodwalton hunts COMPLETED
Post by: kovel on Friday 06 February 09 02:36 GMT (UK)
Would like to have 1841/51/61 census lookup for Mark Dewberry born 1799/1800, at Woodwalton.

If possible also for Mark Dewberry born 1828, at Woodwalton.
This would be greatly appreciated,
Kovel.

Um, interesting that Hannah has the surname Howard and Mark was lodging with a Howard family in 1851.  ;) You need to be looking for the death of William Howard and the marriage of his wife Mary Howard to Mark Dewberry, both between 1851 and 1861.  ;D

Hi Ruskie,
Thanks for all the hard work, this helps greatly a few surprises too regarding Mark the lodger.
Their is one thing that puzzles me, I was given a record from the Woodwalton Parish records of Mark being baptised 4/8/1799 spelt Dubrey to Mark and Catherine. and died 1871 Upwood. The 1841 census indicates Mark Dewberry 1801 age 40. died 1865
Iam wondering if thier was a Mark Dubrey in Woodwalton also as well as a Mark Dewberry.
Maybe they are the same person. Could you possibly check for me.
Best Regards kovel

No other Marks in the 1841 b Huntingdonshire who look anything like Dubrey apart from the 2 Dewberrys.

Nothing in 51 or 61 either, just searching for Mark b Huntingdonshire.

If you check FreeBMD deaths for Huntingdon registration district (which includes Upwood) for Mark (leave surname blank) 1865-77 there are only six deaths, including the two Dewberrys that Ruskie gave you. None in 1871. So I question the 1871 death that you've been given.

Age 40 in 1841 covered a range of 40-44 as ages over 15 were rounded down to the nearest 5 below. So 40 in 1841 would cover someone born in 1799.

Burials in Woodwalton include Mark Dewberry age 47 on 21 Nov 1876, and another Mark aged 70 on 15 Feb 1826. The Mark who died in 1865 must have been buried in a different parish - possibly Upwood, where the NBI only has burials up to 1837
