Hello Folks, I'm trying to put together the families:-
of Elizabeth Ilsley and William Blackall. Charlotte Ilsley and Charles Weston.
Their children: George Weston1851 and Sarah Ann Blackall1855
had Gran Florence Louise Weston 1893 Bray.
I believe Elizabeth and Charlotte were sisters of Thomas Ilsley and Mary Anne Allen
William Blackall son to William Blackall c1785 and Sarah Drewse c1790 possibly Bisham way...
Charles Weston to William Weston c1790
and Mrs Weston? ... possibly Strathfield Saye, Old Basing.
There is very little, if any queries for Ilsley family in Bray.
Any info would be much appreciated and gratefully received.
Thank you. Lesanne.

Hi Lesanne,
I was at school in Maidenhead with an Ilsley. As far as I know her family were an old Maidenhead family. They lived in Blackamore Lane and I am in touch with this old schoolfriend. I can ask her about her family history if you think it might help,
Cheers,
Abiam

Hi Lesanne,
I have had an almost instant reply!
I'll quote what she says but I don't think it's the right family. See what you think.
:) I do not recognise either Elizabeth or Charlotte but I
will definitely look into this. I have just found out that my grandfather
died in 1919 aged 55 and that he and my grandmother are buried in All Saints
cemetery.
My cousin seems to think that my father's family originally came from Tooley
Street in London. My dad's dad had a muffin shop in Albert Street in
Maidenhead and, as far as I know, when his dad died he lived with his
mother in
St Mark's Road - must have had a one room in a very big house. My dad
had one
brother called William (Bill) who was obviously named after my grandfather
William Henry Ilsley and one sister called Eleanor known as Nellie or Nell.
Anyway, I will certainly keep you informed if I come across any more news. :)
Just went to put in quote marks and the message went! Hence modification smilies doing the job for me!
A muffin shop that's interesting, but I don't think it's your family. I seem to remember there was another Ilsley at school and she was from Hurley. But I know nothing more,
Cheers,
Abaim

Berry Hill, Taplow. :) Country Club there now or was in the 80's...
In the River Thames, there's a corn mill at Taplow.
Maidenhead on one side of the bridge~ Berks. Taplow Bucks on otherside.
But just to confuse they extended the Berks boundry to include Taplow/Slough sometime in the 1970's.
So Charles was a miller in Hants.

are eastwood records online?
from 1851 we see that letitia has a 1 year old child but no husband , then in 1861 it seems no parents are around as all siblings are together so this then narrows down the possible deaths of james & letitia the parents considrably

i can't find any reference to them after the m. and bp.
__
maybe the workhouse records will help with John Miall

thinking outside the box maybe Leitia Myall Harvey is not the product of a Myall / Harvey marriage maybe the Myall is named after a promient figure in society = to todays celebs or maybe it was a name further back in her history handed to her

Hi I know it has been sometime since this thread was started.
I believe that I am a relative to some of the Illsley's you have mentioned they fall on my Fathers side. His Mum was an illsley Joyce (b1909-1972) she had another son Martin (1939-1947) he died in a drowning accident they are buried at touchen end cemetery they share a grave which also has Sidney cox my grandad.
Joyce's parents were Fred Illsley and Ocean Rolls, I believe Fred's parents were Frederick Illsley and Elizabeth Goodchild, and then Henry Illsley and Elizabeth Wells. I have not checked these 100 % yet.
I have a lot more Illsley's on my Tree but it's quite tricky setting them all out on here.
-
Walter and Elizabeth Cox, 21 Prague St., Brixton are my maternal great grandparents.
-
Elizabeth and Walter Cox of 21 Prague Street were my maternal great grandparents. I have photos of Elizabeth. I would be very pleased to make contact with any one researching this family. Thank you.
