Title: Help with another will please
Post by: Lady Di on Monday 16 February 09 09:28 GMT (UK)
Sorry folks - I did it again  ::)

This is from the will of Thomas Howe , citizen & salter of London, probated 1557.

I'd like to know where Thomas Howe's country property was in Essex please  ;D

Thanks a lot

Di

Looks like "Westeler"...at least I'm fairly sure it starts "West..." but you could probably already work that bit out  :-\

Thanks Prue - I thought it started with "M"  :-[ :-[
No wonder I couldn't find anything that even came close to a match  ::)

OK - Now I'll go check all the places starting with West.... (and probably have a bit more luck  ;D )

Thanks a lot for your help  :-*

Westelee?  modern West Ley or West Lay?

This site might help:

OK, think I've found a ref. to it (not in relation to your Thomas Howe though):

There are references to Westlee and Mucking on the NA site.  Does that help?
