Hi Wendy

From the 1851 Montgomeryshire census:-

HO107/24/, folio 34, page 9

Parish of Llanfair Caereinion - 16 High Street

RUDGE, David , sv , u , 48  , , MGY Llanfair , 16 High St , /f34/p9

No other RUDGE appears in 1851.

From the 1861 Montgomeryshire census:

RG9/4259, folio 57, page 1

Hamlet of Dolgead in the Parish of Llanfair Caereinion - Dolgead Farm

RUDGE David, sv, -, 12, Boy, MGY Llanfair

No other RUDGE appears in 1861, although there are REDGE, which may possibly be a transcription error, let me know if you want the details.

Can you provide more information for the PRICE family you are looking for?  As you can imagine,  there are a large number of PRICE in both census.

Jan :)

Hi Jan,

Thankyou so much for the information, every bit helps.

I am trying to establish the parents of John Price born c1825 Montgomeryshire who married Elizabeth (Eliza) Gertrude Rudge born c1827 Glamorganshire. They married in Merthyr Tydfil on 12th April, 1851, then came to Australia not long after and so I should be able to find John's parents names from his d.c. Unfortunately I'm still not sure if I have my John's d.c. as it says parents unknown, however age and place of birth tie in. Too many John Price's in the world. LOL  I need to get a copy of the marriage cert. from Merthyr Tydfil.
Welsh Jen gave me some census details 1851 of West Market Field District  showing a John Price (Lodger) unmarried age 24y.o. labourer (MGY KERRY).

Any help greatly appreciated,

Thanks again Jan,

cheers,

Wendy
