Can anyone find me a Margaret Ellen Reeves, (maiden name Howse ) on the 1891 census in this area please?
She married my Gt Gt grandfather, Thomas Beard, in 1901, and they were listed as living in Priest Lane, Pershore.
My grandfather, James William Beard, was born in Church Row, Pershore, in 1897, but his mother, Annie Jane, died in 1899. I was wondering if Thomas moved in with Margaret when they married, but I cannot find Margaret on the 1891 census.

theres a possibility she's shown as Margaret Haynes in 1891 - need to check back to see if theres a 'real' Haynes earlier census / BMD
Nope, Ms Haynes is alive and well in 1881 :-[

You have the right couple in 1901. James wasn't with them. Margaret, Thomas's new wife, was also his dead wife's brother's widow!!
James was sent away - even he didn't know where he'd lived as a small child. I've picked him up on the 1911 census, living as james William Stringer, in Clowne, Derbyshire, but how he came to be there, he never knew!
Yes, I also have Margaret on the 1881.
She married Charles Reeves in 1888. Charles was Annie Jane's ( my Gt Grandmother) brother.
Where Margaret and Charles were in 1891 is what I am trying to find. Just to add to the puzzle, I think that Margaret's last child ,Elsie, registered as Elsie Reeves, may have been Thomas's child, as Charles was , I think, dead by then! Elsie was born the same year as James - maybe that's why Margaret didn't keep him when she married Thomas??

Sorry Mike, I don't recognise anything from that. As far as I have found, and I have gone back 3 generations, my Grandad was the only James in the family. There are William's, which was his 2cnd christian name, but mo more James's!
My Beard family originate from Bricklehampton.
