Title: I'm going to buy a laminator!
Post by: ~Rachel~ on Thursday 26 March 09 11:30 GMT (UK)
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with it, but have some vague ideas bout laminating certs, census records, photos, anything I can get my hands on!

I love pay day.  8)

Hi,
Please, please  don't laminate your original photographs or anything which are original. Make copies  of the original  documents and laminate the copies.

Kind regards:)

Ahh I'm not lucky enough to have any original old photos, so I'm free to laminate away!  ;)

Have you looked into the cost of them?  Sometimes you can get self-sticking laminated pouches that do exactly the same job but far more cheaply - now and again a packet of them in the Pound shop!

Hello

When I got mine there was a special deal, buy 4 packets of A4 pouches and get the laminator free.
They rang to say they were very sorry that all the A4s had gone so I got an A3 one instead and very useful it is too.

Just to reiterate, never laminate anything original!

If you store everything in good quality plastic pockets/albums, you shouldn't need to laminate anything anyway (except for season tickets as per Mark1973  ;D  )

My mum and dad have laminated all the certificates we have for swimming, athletics etc and some minor certs we were presented with at school. Any important certs are framed.

I asked for, and got, a laminator for Christmas 2007.  It is still in its box.  I keep meaning to get it out, but I think I'm a bit afraid of it.  I suppose I should just practice with typed sheets that don't matter if I spoil them.
