Hi, I'm new to this so excuse any errors. I'm trying to trace any living or deceased relatives of my father (John Lynch) born 1936. He grew up in 33 Emmet Road, Inchicore ( i believe this is a florist now) and he had approximately 7 brothers and sisters (including Patrick, Nicholas, Thomas, Alice) of those i can remember. Their father Joseph apparently owned a little bit of land in that area (Inchicore), but this is about all i know. 1930's/1940's would be when they would be found living there. Would be great to find out any information on his history or family. My father now resides in England and lost touch with his family many many years ago. Would love to update him. Your help much appreciated.

Welcome to Rootschat. This isn't really a forum for tracing living people and you aren't allowed to post details of living people but the guidelines about that on the help pages have suggestions for searching for living relatives.
www.rootschat.com/help/posting_guide.php#living
If anyone knows anything about your relatives they can use PM (Personal Message) system to give you details offline (you do need to have at least 3 posts in order to use PM system).

Hi dathai
those records refer to Uncle John's Parents and siblings
Thanks for your help most of whom are named on the Headstone in Glasnevin
I wrote to the Cemetery office to ask if they had a list of all who are interred therein and their dates of
death but so far they haven't come back to me

I think they would prefer you to stump up the 8 euro for a full grave read out see sidenotes here.
I have never ordered online as i only live a few miles away and go to the office and get my credits there once i have paid for my credits i usually ask one of the receptionists to give me the grave number to see if i can locate the grave while i am there.
I then go home and enter my credits onto my account and can see who's buried in the grave and it is saved to my account which i can then go back to at any time or do a print off for other relatives.

Im north of the border and we spent a long weekend in a lovely Hotel in Drumcondra and thankfully we have all Ireland travel passes so I went to the office in Glasnevin and they gave me the Plot Number and I eventually found it with the help of a very nice and helpful local family it was a special "moment" when i first saw it.
I took a Picture of the headstone with all the names I have attached the pic
I don't mind paying for the information but only if they have the dates of death
I bought the dvd One Million Dubliners
best regards
Gerald

yes they will have the dates of death on file
If Eileen 18 in 1901 was his sister looks like she stayed with her aunts in Kerry and shaved about 5 yrs off her age in 1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kerry/Emlagh/Grannafulla/103924/
and may have died in 1951

Lol. Yes the census were not always accurate same as headstones, John's father is spelt Thimothy which of course is incorrect.
That is the town land in Kerry where Timothy came from
I have discovered there are loads of parishes in Kerry so that will help when searching NLI. iE RC church records now online at last
Ta for Eileen's details g

My mistake is I'm trying to cram too much into at least 5 family trees and l tend to include too much

Hi Dathai, I finally went back to Glasnevin this week and spoke with the lovely and helpful Lynn who gave me a printout of all interred in the Lynch Family grave for 8 euro of course, for which i was delighted to have its packed with vital info.
I also went to where the Family lived after Lavina returned to Dublin it is in Temple Crescent Blackrock.
it was strange seeing it for the first time and my research told me that there was a name on the gate which reads "Warriwee" this confirmed the correct house,
sadly I have not been able to contact any of John and Lavina's three children whom I met at least twice. they were born in the 1930s i understand.
they may be dead I don't know. I am aware that R Chat don't allow info on living relatives.
best regards
Gerald
