Could someone find me Angela Rampolla, living in Owston Ferry, Lincs on the 1871 census please, and tell me who else is living in the same house?
The person is actually called Angelo Rampoldi, and his wife died in 1869, so I would like to know who he is living with.

Thanks lizlb,

Hi Pat
There's more information on Angelo Rampoldi in the London Gazette of 6 Jul 1841.
You can find it on www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues19996/pages1774 (http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/19996/pages/1774)
I'm interested in Italian immigrants in the 19th century in England. What can you tell me about him, apart from what's on Ancestry?
Kind regards
Kristel

Hi Kristel,
I know nothing else of Angelo apart from what I have added to my Ancestry Tree. I've wondered myself how and why he came to be living in this country, especially in such a rural area.
He was my husband's gt gt gt grandfather. The Italian black hair and olive skin still crops up in the family from time to time.
Thank you for the link to the London-gazette. I did know that he had been in jail during the 1841 census but it is interesting to see these details in print.
I'm don't think that I can't be of much help to you. I'm not sure how much you were able to pick up off my Ancestry tree (I saw earlier that you had been active on there - you have an unusual name, so it was easy to recognise on here too). if you think there might be anything about Angelo or his descendants on my tree that you couldn't access, do ask.
Cheers,
Pat.

Hello,
Just yesterday, I started writing a family tree up (Simple ways to pass the time), when I came across this Angelo Rampoldi. I found that Mr. Rampoldi married a girl named Elizabeth (Isle?), who later had a daughter named Marija Rampoldi, who married into the Nelson family. They had a daughter named Mary Jane, who married to the Torn family, they had a daughter named Ellen, and then the son of her descent is my great grandfather.
I understand I'm a tad bit late to the conversation (roughly 10 years?), but if you guys find anything else out, or even see this reply, give me a shout.
Damon Heath
edit:- I have a photo of the tree I have drawn, but I could not fathom how to add it
