Hi

Had you checked freebmd for her re-marriage?

Marriages June qtr 1917

Walter Jones   Chorlton  8c 1288
Mary A Price    Chorlton  8c 1288

The marriage cert will show her status (widowed) and fathers name (Stone) if it is the right entry

However - you should put a condition on any application to that effect

I notice that you already know her fathers name - presumably from her first marriage

The only advantage to the second marriage cert would be confirmation that you have the right couple.

As regards to her death - you will have quite a job finding her with a name like Mary Ann Jones unless you know the year she died

As Mary Ann Stone was born before 1881 - have you checked the 1881/1891/1901 censuses for her?  Was she born in Lancashire?

I have checked those census but I cannot locate her family...father JOHN was shown as deceased on her wed cert in 1902.................... I'm told from a family member she is buried at Southern Cemetery in Manchester possibly within a family plot of the GILBERT family but I am still working on this.....I'm just trying to tie up loose ends....I believe my Great Grandfather THOMAS was killed @ Egypt WW1 (8/4/1915) which may account for her remarriage but I cant prove that the THOMAS killed in WW1 is her husband and my Grand father which is a shame ( Ive posted on the Army site her for help ! )
But again your advice is greatly appreciated...................
