Title: A question on Scotland resources and Ancestry membership - Completed
Post by: Millstream on Thursday 21 May 09 23:14 BST (UK)
I have recently activated a 30 day membership to Ancestry that came with the 2009 upgrade to Family Tree maker.

I can locate the census information on Ancestry from 1841 but not BDMs for Scotland. The only BDM info in this region seems to be for England and Wales. Would this be correct? Or is it just me having a bad "finding my way around an on-line database/software day"

Regards

Hi

A****** doesn't have the Scottish BMD. The best place to find that online information is Sc*******Peo***.

Cheers

Just in case you didn't understand Karenlee's reference ........

Scotland's People: http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Pay per view site but very reasonable.

Thanks for the link Pistonbroke, I have had a good read and I agree there are a lot of good points.

I accessed http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk late last year to try and find a number of BDMs and found that my credits ran out very quickly with little to show for my efforts.

Thanks for your advice

Paul
