Co. Westmeath is actually a separate County to Meath - see : http://mcdonaghheritage.com/images/map_of_Irish_Counties.jpg
there's a Ballynacarrigy in Co. Westmeath... - see the townland database at : www.thecore.com/seanruad
Ballynacarrigy Town, Moygoish, Kilbixy, Westmeath
(town/Barony/Civil Parish/County)
there's also a Baronstown in the same civil parsh

i am totally mixed up, so does this mean you cant help with my ancestor???
-
The spelling of the name looks a bit strange, I know the surname Heavin is very strong in the Moate area of Westmeath, but have not come across your spelling.
-
it was changed to headavin when they moved to scotland. do you know anything of the nallys that i mentioned patrick nally from the same area??? thanx
ps: all the countys and stuff are as confusing as welsh ancestry

Hello,
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1408347;p=collectionDetails;t=searchable
shows a James Hedivan birth in 1907 - Mullingar registration district.
There are also some Heduvans for Westmeath (but not James)
You could send for the certificate to http://www.groireland.ie/
or wait until 1911 census for Westmeath is released.
best wishes
heywood

http://www.ancestorfind.net/docs/Ballynacargy_INDEX_A_to_M.pdf
has the same birth as Heduvan
-
Marriages given on the same site;
Heduvan John to Coffey Anne-- 12/1/1847
Heduvan Michael to Tuite Abigail-- 23/7/1863
Heduvan Patrick to Moran Ellen- 25/5/1902
Heduvan Patrick to Donoghue Mary-- 13/7/1868.
-
this is all amazing everyone. thanx for your replies
-
sorry - I should have explained my answer a bit better..
I was trying to say was that the town/townland names you mentioned seem to be in Co. Westmeath - which has a separate section, and posting there might allow your query to be read by people who specialize in that county.
It looks like seanmac and heywood have found some good results for you to start with.

Hi Minnie, My mum was born in 1921 too and she was Annie Nally's best friend for many years. Annie Nally had a sister called Bunty Nally and I think that she was about the same age. They were all born in Glenyards Cottages, Bonnybridge.I think that Annie Nally's mum delivered all the babies in the cottages. I do not know about other brothers or sisters in the Nally family but my mum often spoke of Annie and Bunty. Glenyards Cottages no longer exist, they were workers cottages built around a big house, the bosses house. The bosses name was ST. John (THEY PRONOUNCED IT SINJUN)
My mum was Annie O'Connor there were 8 of them in all and as far as I remember they lived in very cramped conditions in the downstairs part of the cottage and the Nallys lived in the upstairs part. Through time the Nallys moved to one of the bigger cottages and my mums family got tenancy of the upstairs and downstairs. I think that there are still Nallys in Bonnybridge, I am sure that they were all rehoused there and Glenyards cottages would have been demolished probably in the 1950s. Hope that this is of some interest to you.

Hi there..
I am related to Heduan's who live in the Miltown, Rathconrath area. My Grandmother was Moffatt and her sister married a Heduan. there are People wh spell there name Heduvan who hail form Ballinacarrigy, they are probably the ones you are looking for and I do not think they are related directly to the Heduans in Milltown. these are neighbouring parishes. I also know that there are Nally's in that area also. my family and my mothers family on nearly all sides come from that general area in Westmeath and I grew up there. If you come accross Hussey's, Moffatts, Flynn's, Bracken's, leavy's, Gunning's, Kiernans, Christie's or Fitzpatrick's in your research in that area, they would largely be my family.
good luck with your research.

Hedivan household, Baronstown Demense (http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Westmeath/Kilbixy/Baronstown_Demense/882482/)

Hi I am related to Abigail Tuite Heduvan from Westmeath. According to family stories she had 13 children, but gave her childless sister the 2 youngest. I am looking for the name of Abigail's sister as well as the names of Abigail's parents. From what I hear the sisters were orphaned when they were young, but had come from a good family.
I am also looking for information on Michael Heduvan. I am not sure if he was a 7th son of a 7th son or if it was his father that was, but if you have any info on his siblings or parents I would love some insight. Thanks!

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but I found that the National Library of Ireland now has parish registers available online, at http://www.nli.ie/en/parish-register.aspx. I browsed the records for Ballinacargy (diocese Sonna), and found several baptismal records for my family. There's no index, and the handwritten records are of sporadic legibility, but it's a great leap forward, still.

Have you checked the 1911 census, there is hedivans in baronstown demesne kilbixy.
Best of luck.
