Though I'm looking for photos of the four pine wood panels with inscribed names on the side of the organ loft ... inside the church ! I asked Ken but he's busy right now ... he told me to ask Goldy ... but I don't know Goldy ! :-\ ... so I was kind of hoping some kind person could do it for me !! ::)

Hi Annie
This sounds exciting.
The main one I'm looking for on here is for a friend, I'll pm you, long stories and so many variations. I'm hoping seeing an inscription might give me another one.
My own main one, I've realised despite the long posts, I havesn't actually given all the details we have on William Diggle. I will pm you and the otthers involved doing researcjh & post them, but must go off now. Lokks like a great project thougjh. I'll look at your details later and get back.
Good luck with it.

I have just sent you 3 high res photos to your dougjones email addy.
The door was locked and no signs of life - I wrote a note and pushed it under the church door asking if the Church Warden could ring ring at home. Watch this space
Only one headstone marking war graves outside.
Regards
Ken

I passed at 9.30 like you said locked up tight.
Where that grave hiding Ken?
I am intrigued by the murdered girl buried by the side gate Sarah Jane Roberts
-
Wonderful Ken ! ... thank you so much ! :D
Interestingly there are two other soldiers buried in this churchyard but they dont appear on the list Pte 17351 H W Shepherd Leicester Regt and Driver George William Slack RGA
Goldy ... thank you for trying ! by the way .... the headstone is in the bottom left hand side of the church picture !
Annie :)

I am such a dope walked straight past it this morning looking for the on opposite on the other side of the path.
It's for a young lady who was murdered in 1880.
-
The only time I have seen the doors open is at Sunday service, but I don't think it is the right time to go taking any pictures.
Goldy - have you any other details on this Sarah Jane Roberts is does sound intriging

Annie
I have found the home address of the Reverend - I will drop him a note (feel bit cheeky just knocking on his door), to see if we can get access to the church.
Ken

Thanks Ken ! .... maybe Sunday is a better day - after services !
Whatever you decide will be great !
Annie :)

Just found this thread !
I'd be interested to know if there are any Stubbs or Walmsleys on any memorial there ...
... and I guess if the church is always locked, then check outside on the notice board for the time of services, and be there on a Sunday approx 3/4 hour after the service time stated, and shoot in as the people start to come out ! Better ask the minister for permission to take pics ...
GOOD LUCK !!

I walked threw the church yard today to Find Sarah's stone half gone. I do hope nothing happens to the war grave.

In a roundabout way it was me that caused the thread as I happened to mention to Annie I had a booklet commemorating the soldiers from Christ Church and she created a website:

I loved working with Annie on the Prince of Wales Volunteers site as my grandfather was with them. http://www.powv.webs.com/
Also miss Tony H who worked at Gorton Monastery, between them they created this great site. http://www.freewebs.com/liverpoolannie/
