She was murdered.
Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of the newspaper clipping.
Cheers

You can try searching
http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
Only a percentage of newspapers have so far been digitised though.

Thanks very much for that.
otherwise it's getting out and going to library hey.

Nothing turned up when I googled, so you could have to resort to a library visit or two. ;)

yes, that's what i thought. She was married to my uncle during, or just after WW11, (*)

Well found Shaun and Cando
not quite the grisly tale that PinkFan had been told, but a sad tale none the less.
The husband did not murder his wife.

Hi guys thanks very much for that. He was a baby according to this clipping, so he wouldn't remember.
-
Hi there.
Archer here. You are talking about my father.I am trying to research Beryl and would like to create a legacy for her rather than be just a tragic statistic. She seemed to be a wonderful mother and there is a large gap where she should be in our generation. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much about her out there and we only have a couple of photos of her. She is missed even though we never got to spend time with her.
-
BTW - I don't think we have met. I was not able to make it to your uncle (my grandfather's) funeral due to being overseas. From my understanding, a branch of the family made efforts for the first time in over three decades to pay tribute. They also took all of his treasured possessions rightfully belonging to his elderly wife including a motor vehicle, WWII service medals and jewellery. These items held strong sentimental value to his direct descendents and we have lost any opportunity to share any of them. We hope they have been held in value and remain within the extended family.
I sincerely hope you are not one of them, especially after some of the shocking allegations you have made here about Bernard and his son, my father. In any case, I will leave an open door in good will as you have a genuine interest in our family.

Nikki what information are you looking for on Beryl. If it is ancestors it would be best to start a new thread, and you can state that information on her marriage and death is not required.

Hi Nikki
pinkfan hasn't been online here since January 2018 but should receive an email notification that you have posted and hopefully come back soon.

Hi Nikki,
Pinkfan has been notified of your reply. As Jamjar has already said our forum is not the place for family disagreements so please be pleasant. As long as the posts do not discuss the personal details of any living folk then that is perfectible acceptable post and open to research by members.
When researching family history the research can sometimes bring up information that we may not be happy with but we can not re-write history.
Regards
Sarah
Bernard and Beryl appear to have been a happily married couple and this tragedy was totally unexpected.
Looks like Beryl was an innocent victim in this tragedy. No one was aware that a lodger in the household David Lionel Swanson, who was a very quiet, intensely private person, seemed to have been (one sidedly) infatuated with Beryl.

Hi Nikki.
I'm sorry to hear about what happened.
I also was not there, and not really 100% on what I was accusing anyone of.
Bob was my uncle, I would never say anything bad of him.
I haven't been on here for 10 years and don't really recall my original post, but don't think I implied that Bob hurt his wife. I always knew who did it, I just happened to be researching at the time.
Again, I'm so sorry whatever happened, I'm unaware of any of it.
Did you go to police?
I would have.
Not everyone has closest family ties and I wiped mine many years ago.
Once again I'm terribly sorry. Nobody should have to endure that when their grieving, but I do t recall slandering Bob in any way.

I have to own my poor form bringing in bad vibes here.
Sorry everyone.
Greatly appreciate the help you’ve all given with links to extra info.
PinkFan - I’ll message you :)
