Hi Michelle
I'm not sure if you've checked the censuses.
The nearest that I can find on the 1841 is:
Pot Ellen, Kildalton, Argyll
Parish 542 ED 6 page 11
Campbell
Niel , 40, baker
Jannet, 45
Niel,15
Ellen, 12
Charles,10
Mary, 8
Donald, 6
Ann, 4
Archd, 2
All born Argyll
Scrap this - see below :)
No Christina though :-\
Do you have information about them afterwards - marriage, deaths, emmigration, etc.
The family might not have been Church of Scotland so the baptism records might be difficult to find.
Regards

Hi again
There is a patron submission on the IGI for a Donald Campbell b. 2 June 1834, Inverscaddle, Ardgour.
Parents are shown as John Campbell and Catherine McLachlan.
I'll see if I can find anything that substantiates this.

This looks more like it - IGI, Extracted:
birth 2 June 1834 Ballachulish and Corran of Ardgour
Same parents.
The same batch should have Christina and Ann.

Ann is shown as being born 7 November 1837. Same place. Same parents :)
No sign of a Christina/Christian

A brother Robert Campbell is showing for 7 Dec 1835 - same parents.
SP has them as N of Ardgour, Ballachulish and Corran

There are three other couples called John Campbell and Catherine/Cathrine McLachlan having children around the same time in Argyll - in Kilmore & Kilbride; Ardnamurchan & Strontian an in Kilninver & Kilmelfort.
Given that some of the children are quite close to each other, I don't think that Donald and Ann's parents moved from Ballachulish but it is difficult to decide on some of the births.
I think I'd just take the 3 Ballachulish ones as the same family.

John Campbell and Cathrine McLachlan married/banns 30 May 1833, N. of Ardgour, Ballachulish and Corran of Ardgour.
The full entry can be checked on SP to see if any more information is given.

The family don't seem to be on the 1841 census for that parish and I don't see them elsewhere. Did they emmigrate in the late 1830s?

This message gives information on the parish and parish number for further searching:

I read it as Kilmallie (520) being the earlier parish to look for.
The IGI birth batch looks like C115202 for 1773-1823 birth/baptisms.

An outside possible for Catherine McLachlan, given her children's names:
17 March 1813, Kilmallie - Kate McLachlan. Parents - Donald McLachlan and Ann Cameron
There are two possibles for John Campbell - 1809 and 1814 but I'm not at all confident about these - no naming pattern.

Hi Gadget,
Thank you so much, what i can tell you is that Donald emigrated with his family in 1855 on the Storm Cloud from Scotland to Tasmania. It seems that 2 of his siblings came with him, Ann, his sister is one of my great grandmothers. I am really grateful for your help. Again thank you :)

Michelle,
I can't help with your family but some of mine (McDonalds) were also in the Storm Cloud when it arrived in Tasmania in 1855.
I am happy to give you some information on the ship's arrival if you wish. Later I may have more details on the passengers when I get further into my research. The Tasmanian Archives Office has partial Storm Cloud records transcribed at http://www.archives.tas.gov.au/nameindexes/ on the "Arrivals" tab:
Family Name Given Name(s) Title Ship Port of Departure Date of Arrival Remarks References
Campbell Ann Storm Cloud Glasgow 29 Aug 1855 age 17 CB7/12/1/5 Bk26
Campbell Catherine Storm Cloud Glasgow 29 Aug 1855 age 13 CB7/12/1/5 Bk26
Campbell Christina Storm Cloud Glasgow 29 Aug 1855 age 10 CB7/12/1/5 Bk26
Campbell Donald Storm Cloud Glasgow 29 Aug 1855 age 17 CB7/12/1/5 Bk26

There is a wee history of the Lochaber MacLachlan's in "Bygone Lochaber!" by Somerled MacMillan 1971, printed by Davidson West George Street, Glasgow. Very few in that district nowadays. Try online.
