I have a marriage certificate from the GRO, it does not give the father's name or occupation on it. I rang the GRO, Southwater Parish church and was told that if the name wasn't on then the parish record would be the same. Although I know this MAY be the case I have sent certificates back when the fathers name has been missing and they have come back with the fathers name. Would some kind person have a look for the marriage certificate at the Archives for me please and either confirm the father's name was left off or otherwise. the marriage details are below:
May 27th 1882 Southwater Parish Church, Sussex
Thomas Charles Frederick Thorns 23 Batchelor, Labourer, Charlwood, Surrey, ____ Thorns, _______
Fanny Peirce 27 Spinster, Dom Servant, Southwater, Thomas Peirce, Labourer
witnesses Abel Peirce and Jane Woolgar
many thanks
Jan
